The City of Salem has warned people away from Bridge, Lathrop, Barton and Webb Streets via reverse 911 and local access cable. I can see helicopters and can hear sirens.
NOTHING on the local news TV or radio stations and it has been going on for over an hour.

SALEM (WBZ) ― CBS Police have responded to a standoff situation at 92 Bridge St. in Salem Monday. According to police, a shot was fired inside the home. The street and the surrounding area have been blocked off as police work to diffuse the situation. It is unclear who is inside the house, or if anyone has been injured.

I’d say it is a journalist’s job to diffuse the situation. Lately.

I sure don’t need any warning to stay away from Assachusetts.

File image. That's the best they can do, I guess. Couldn't they at least have shown a tire, too? Maybe a cruiser door handle?

The street and the surrounding area have been blocked off as police work to diffuse the situation. No copy desk at WBZ.

Nobody ever goes there anymore. It’s too crowded.

Ha ha.
Many years ago my ex-wife was a news graphics artist at WBZ.
When the state legislator Emmett Kelley passed away, few were amused when her colleague ran a picture of Emmett Kelley the clown for the WBZ news story.
Whoops.
