These people continue to be very serious in their stated intent, and I for one trust them more than the ever-ready-to-compromise NRA.

We lost state sovereignty with the 17th Amendment.

We lost state sovereignty with the 17th Amendment. And we can reassert it with the 2nd.

"nor prohibited by it to the states"THIS is the KEY; prohibitions by the STATES to stop Congress from mortgaging our great-grandchildres' futures, and remove their meddling from our personal lives.
Unfortunately, you could expect the USSC to protect the Congress, by some tortured interpretaion of those words in the Constitution, as they've been doing a LOT of that over the past several years, re-inventing the Founders' intent.

My understanding is that Libertarians in various States have introduced this legislation but in no State is it expected to go anywhere.

They should have done this in 1934. Might be too little too late.

Not totally true. A large portion of the state is fairly conservative. King County (Seattle) seems to be the exception rather than the rule.

It is the only way we will get it back. Socialist governments NEVER give up their power willingly.

I know all about the Fair tax. I also know that the ‘Rats idea of “fairness” is taking money away from the people who earned it and giving it to people who didn’t.

Way too little and far too late. The Feds already OWN the states. The “stimulus” will only seal their fates.

That was just one of the nails in the coffin lid.
To: Blood of Tyrants
The point is that repealing the 17th isn’t going to reestablish sovereignty to any state nor any person; repealing the 16th and enacting HR 25 will.
