They’ll blame it on something else, like EEEEEVIL REPUBLICANS somehow, and the media suckers will be completely complicit in the plot. That’s how it always works.

For, at least, 7 or 8 years now.

SCHI(t)P is really going to be in trouble when all the smokers quit, or turn to the black market, because of ultra high prices.

The demorats have done ONE thing which I am thankful for - when I read Obama was going to raise the tax on cigs another 61 cents and then the idiot Rendell is looking to raise the state tax on cigs to subsidize something else - this girl - who has smoked over 40 years - decided NO MORE! I tried cold turkey (ugh) but am happy to state that I am down to 5 a day and will continue to reduce it till its NO MORE! Thanks - just had to vent. My nerves are shot!

Sadly, with many of these smoking bans, the GOP has been complicit.

The nanny-staters who pass these laws don’t care. And the majority of voters don’t care to hold them to account.

When it’s their vice or necessity that gets banned the voters will suddenly care. Smoking was the least path of resistance for the nanny staters to get their foot in the door. Success in banning smoking, the election of Obama and Democratic control of the house AND Senate will embolden them like never before, and many Pubbies will continue to go along.

They should have done what the hypocrites are proposing here. Exempt the casinos but stick it to the privately owned bars and restaurants.......

The Nazis have ruined civility. Notice that the anti-smokers refuse to compromise. But even better, the fire chief said he can live without them :-)

Washington Township (Westmoreland County) fire Chief Dan Black, chairman of his company’s bingo, said not only is bingo revenue down 15 percent to 20 percent, but the ban has pitted smokers and nonsmokers against each other. Smokers want breaks built into the games; nonsmokers don’t. “It’s something that didn’t matter two years ago. They sat side by side. It wasn’t an issue,” he said.

Black said he can afford to lose the nonsmokers.

Congrats Gypsy, keep it going, you have a great start.
I am on my 6th month cold turkey, put my last cigarette out and never looked back. (as Paul Harvey says, now for the rest of the story):
Diagnosed with Laryngeal cancer 3 rd of July 2007, everybody said it was because of 50 years of smoking. Had my voice box removed a month and 1/2 later, haven’t said a word since LOL. Come to find out it was not the smoking, but my wonderful 1 year vacation in Vietnam that gave me the big C.
Anyway, 6 months later I am smoke free (trust me, not my choice) and I regret smoking NOT ONE WIT!!!! I loved smoking,I did it with class and finesse, and I hadn’t gotten this tumor, I would still be smoking.
I now am planning on living to be 100, and miserable the rest of my life.
Interesting side effect, I did it without nicorette or any of that stuff. Turns out I was not addicted to nicotene, but I was addicted to my habit. I still want to smoke when I play poker, or,.... when the phone rings.
Keep up the good work, Gypsy, I am pulling for ya....

......Bob

LOL, glad he said it! My patience with these social engineering nazis is at it’s all time low. I’ve no more patience for them, and I’m done playing nice.

Restaurants and bars are closing left and right around here.

Sure, the general economy is somewhat to blame, but the smoking bans are contributors.

I haven't spent a dime in a NM bar or restaurant since the statewide ban was instituted and I won't.

“Had my voice box removed a month and 1/2 later, haven’t said a word since LOL. “

You need one of those buttons that says “Unable to talk. See finger”. A friend of mine had one.
