President Obama has been in office less than a month, but that hasn't stopped many West Michigan firearms dealers from referring to him as "gun salesman of the the year."

I posted this on another thread a day or two ago, but the Wal-Mart department manager (sporting goods) tells me that the ammo manufacturers are supposed to be caught up with the high demand and shipments will be back to normal some time in March. When I was there on Thursday, they had plenty of 9mm, three different brands.
Still waitin on a small order of 357 placed mid-Dec
Don’t know if you are a shooter... But while you’re waiting you might want to stock up on some ammo for it... not just .357 but also some .38 as their easier to shoot and less expensive for practice...
And to any of the “new” shooters out there that don’t know... if you have a revolver you can fire .38’s through a .357 BUT not the other way around, so if you are thinking of getting one or the other, get the .357!.
And with all the “new” people buying weapons, the “old” shooters need to pass on their knowledge and skills, especially if you are a Firearms Instructor! If you see someone that needs help and the range, step up and lend a hand...
I’ve already been approached by a handful of people (family and friends) wanting training, So I’m going to set up a training class for them.
Should have been... at the range...
I need to re-stock on ammo and take up re-loading.
In business and professional settings, I always refer to him as Mr. Obama. That does not always go well where I live which probably voted 80% for the punk.
Where I work, not where I live. Where I live probably voted 55-45 for the punk instead.
I love to pull peoples chain also.
I’m about 400 rounds through a 1000 round box of .303 British that was manufactured in 1918 and all of them have fired fine. Cleaning after pumping some of those fulminate primered cartridges through the old war stick is an exercise though...
I’ve got a lever action .284 back east at the parents, that gun is one where you bag any boxes of ammo you come across in hole-in-the-wall stores in the sticks. I’ve gotten it before in VA with it still priced at something like $5.75/box, they didn’t sell unleaded gas when the things went up on the shelf...
I'll bet your levergun is a Model 88 Winchester and the round is the one with the rebated rim. I'm sure there are still dies and brass available if you're interested in handloading. Though not a commercial success, the .284 Winchester is a good round and that M88 is kind of like the 56 T-Bird...there just aren't many around. That makes them cool!
