WASHINGTON Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele today released the following statement concerning the executive order quietly signed by President Barack Obama on Friday ordering the use of union labor for federal construction projects:
President Obamas executive order will drive up the cost of government at a time when we should be doing everything possible to save taxpayer dollars. Federal contracts should go to the businesses that can offer taxpayers the best value not just the unions who supported the Democrats campaigns last year. Quietly signing executive orders to payback campaign backers undermines Obama promise to change Washington. It is a disappointment for Americans hoping for more transparency and less politics as usual in Washington.
Does anyone have a clue how many construction companies will die because of this, how many jobs will be lost and the tiny percentage that are union?
I pray they take this to court.
Go have a look at the comments:

I mean damn, can pay to play be more obvious with this guy?
The founders are spinning in their graves because we are not marching in the streets
The Federal Register.
Me three. And I have a feeling there are millions out there that feel the same way.
You know it.
The level of complacency in society is stunning
Obama is killing innovation and entrepreneurial spirit at every bend
Anyone know how much went to jobs and training for unions in the stimulus crap?
Can’t that law be challenged in right to work states?
Worse than that, Ali
All these new Union jobs, who is going to fill the work positions?
It sure wont be experienced workers.
Unless the non-union companies switch and oprganize, most of those workers will remain in their old jobs making less, because there is NO WAY Obama is going to just let all those poor kids who dont have jobs not get on the job training
meaning: inexperienced labor, doing union jobs, that are critical to infrastructure, which if supervised properly and redone after mistakes means YEARS of delays in work projects
Else, they let the work go, it fails prematurely, and the Unions get to work again...even after the inspectors are jailed for making false statements of safe completion
I see major fraud, major shoddy work, major industrial accidents, major delays, major takeover of american companies into Union shops FORCED upon companies which are family owned, entrapaner owned . . .
It is time to grab our pitchforks, this is Communism in it’s finest work
I forgot, there are thouands of illegal aliens who can do some of this work...meaning all those poor city kids WONT be getting hired anyways...
So, Black America, Still think he’s the Messiah??
I could just spit...
LOL! Me too. And he’s only been on the job for two weeks. Elections have consequences, folks.
It’s an EO, which means it can be challenged by a Senator or Congressman within a certain time period set by law.
So, if you have a conservative rep, call him or her and ask for him to challenge this EO after it’s published.
I’ll contact my Senators and my rep next week and ask them to do this.
You have a link?
BTTT
Get out of debt. Be beholden to no one and ride the next 2 to 4 years out.
