WASHINGTON Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele today released the following statement concerning the executive order quietly signed by President Barack Obama on Friday ordering the use of union labor for federal construction projects:
President Obamas executive order will drive up the cost of government at a time when we should be doing everything possible to save taxpayer dollars. Federal contracts should go to the businesses that can offer taxpayers the best value not just the unions who supported the Democrats campaigns last year. Quietly signing executive orders to payback campaign backers undermines Obama promise to change Washington. It is a disappointment for Americans hoping for more transparency and less politics as usual in Washington.

I'm growing concerned about Obama's use of the executive order. Dictators issue orders. I think he is going to rule (where have I heard that before?) by executive order and we will be spending many years and millions of dollars in court trying to set limits on the ability of a president to "rule" by executive order.
The constitution was designed to protect us from the emergence of a dictator. I hope the court hasn't drifted too far to the left. First legislation from the bench, then, policy from the executive without the voice of the people... VOX POPULI!

I some times wonder about the age and mental abilities of many of the posters here. This was a standard add on to all Democrat bills when the were in charge before 1994. Interesting. Why did Bill Clinton remove this requirement? Was it done by executive order or was it done by Congress? Why was it removed?

Just imagine how the people of Venezuela feel. A slim “majority” of hacks, goons and voting fraud experts keeps that monkey in power. Looks like Obama has figured out the formula. Beginning to seriously dislike my American neighbors. Stupid and selfish until it is too late to save the Republic.

Excellent lesson and easy enough for a grade school student to understand. I will show it to my son later. Thanks.
One other thing - It always irks me when I hear the media refer to Nazi’s as hard right wingers when they are actually far left wingers.

How does this play out in states that do not have labor unions? They are probably "red" states and therefore won't get any money anyway.

Standard add on means it was a clause in all the Democrat bills. Before democrats lost house. You do know what a clause was and is, after they lost house clintoon wrote and executive order.
