Still no definite news on dad's treatment. He had a second CT Scan on his stomach on Thursday. The results showed that the collection of fluid and possible infection has grown not decreased as they had hoped after treating with antibiotics but my feeling is they did not give it a fair chance as one doctor put him on the antibiotics then the next day another one took him off them so for nearly a fortnight he has been on off.
The consultant wants to drain the fluid but he has got to get the agreement of the radiologist who does the procedure via a CT scan as some of them are not keen on doing it as it can introduce more infection into an already vulnerable system.
He is also low on sodium again though not as low as before and may need a blood transfusion again they are trying to avoid this and giving him iron tablets first.
I have gone ahead and sorting more out on the home front, reduced my hours to 30 a week and a hole in the wall from the front room to the living room so that dad and I can be in the same room.
The work was done yesterday it was done through a friend of a friend who is in the building trade so is not costing too much.
