A teachers’ union has no business supporting or opposing Prop 8 in the first place. The union should stick to supporting teachers who’ve been wrongfully terminated and shut up about unrelated politics.

Let’s see if I have this straight. The “Union” supported the homosexual agenda while union membership opposed it? Sounds to me like a union desperate for new leaders...or members.

Prop 8 isn't the only initiative the California Teachers Association got involved with in the last year's elections...

• Prop 8 defines marriage as between a man and a woman. CTA OPPOSES.
• Prop 4 requires parental notification before a minor can obtain an abortion. CTA OPPOSES.
• Prop 6 has to do with police and law enforcement funding. CTA OPPOSES.
• Prop 9 regards victims' rights and greater access to parole hearings and other items such as bail, pleas, and sentencing. CTA OPPOSES.
• Prop 3 grants more bonds for childrens' hospitals. CTA SUPPORTS (although very little).
• Prop 93 was a term limits initiative that really extended term limits for some of its backers. CTA SUPPORTED.
• Prop 92 had to do with community colleges and funding. CTA OPPOSES.
