Very disappointed is how the former USS Cole commander put ittwicethat pursuant to Pres. Obamas order, charges have been dropped against a presumed al Qaeda member suspected of plotting the attack on the Cole that killed 17 American sailors.
Very disappointed. Thats one way to politely put it.
Morning Joe scored an exclusive today with the poised but clearly frustrated Navy Cmdr. Kirk Lippold (ret.), who was the commander of the Cole when al Qaeda attacked it in 2000. Mika Brzezinski did her best to make the case for the administrations actions, but the commander clearly wasnt buying. Cmdr. Lippold, along with family members of the sailors who were killed, will be meeting today with Pres. Obama.
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Whats your reaction to the news this morning, especially given the controversy surrounding Guantanamo Bay?
KIRK LIPPOLD: Im actually very disappointed. I think the administration, by doing this, we had a legal process in place with military commissions, that would have allowed due process to be served against the detainees, and now, justice delayed is justice denied. Theres no due process in place, and now were just going to have to wait.

Guaranteed Gitmo engine-starter ping to Today show list.
Glenn Beck is going to have him on his showon FOX at 5.
Aaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
What’s this guy going to end up doing to our Republic?
Praise Allah!
Cmdr retired? Why retired I wonder?
The first of many I fear...
Clinton did the same thing......nothing. I guess the Demo’s will be happy when we get hit again....what wussies. Sad that more Americans will die because of his crap. Next time it will be a lot more Americans too.
He was censured for the attack. That is the end of a career. This guy has suffered more than once.
Surely they are not FREE....They still are being held at Gitmo.. Right?
Zero’s connections to the ACLU will shine.......
You’re surely right. But he is free of charges, at least for time being. Charges dismissed without prejudice, so that they could be reinstated.
We know where 0’s sympathies and loyalties lie, there is no need for his lackeys to explain his actions. This is just one aspect of 0’s jihad against Americans. Give him three more weeks, and we’ll get a real look at his treachery.
Unless they can bring charges again, and I haven’t seen the reasoning behind the dismissal of charges, then he will be released.
“and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”
WILL STAND WITH MUSLIMS SHOULD POLITICAL WINDS SHIFT IN UGLY DIRECTION

“Blessed is B. Hussein Al Obama, peace be upon him!
Praise Allah! “
In all seriousness, I’m sure that was the reaction of this terrorist to the news that the charges against him were dropped. What a disgrace!
Zero wants to see long drawn out trials at taxpayer expense to showcase to the world how fair America can be....even to throat slitters. At the same time he falls flat on his ass at protecting us......
He was due to enter a plea[likely guilty] on Monday, at which point jeopardy would have attached and he couldn't be tried again should The One change the process. Since the charges were dropped, for now, he stays in jail, and can be charged in the future. If BHO figures out what he wants to do. The status of his confessions, all of which he claims were extracted under torture, will be interesting should BHO go the civil court route. Wonder if he was Mirandized? It all has the makings of quite a circus.
BTW, the charges were dropped by officials at GITMO. BHO wanted to wait until after meeting with the victims families today, the act of a true coward.
