Pakistan sets free scientist AQ Khan [Nuke Blackmarketeer]

Pakistan's disgraced nuclear scientist AQ Khan, who has been accused of running a proliferation network, Friday walked out a free man after the Islamabad High Court ended his house arrest.

"These things happen. We should forget and look forward," Khan said after being declared a free man by the court.

Khan told reporters that Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had also been "inside".

"The government had made arrangements and nobody could hurt me. Now also, the government will take care," Khan said.

Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Aslam, while announcing a verdict on several petitions filed against Khan's house arrest, declared him a free citizen and said he was free to move across the country. The allegations against him of nuclear proliferation have not been "substantiated", Geo TV reported.

Due to security reasons, Khan should inform the government about his movements in advance.

The court has directed the government to immediately provide security to Khan, the report said.

Khan is free to express his views, talk to media and carry out research and get treatment from any doctor of his own choice.

Stealing the plans for building nuclear bombs? Khan did that, so, yes, these things happen.

Selling (or, as is more probable, donating) to rabid radical islamists the nuclear bomb plans that he stole? Khan did that, so, yes, these things happen.

Getting blown into a million bits while sitting on his crapper? Khan hasn't done that yet, so, in this case, we must be content with hoping that these things happen.

I agree. This man should be eliminated—he’s a threat to our security, and he his responsible for spreading nuclear knowledge to our enemies.

But then, Zero would never be against another fellow Muslim.

Should....?

Back before Americans forgot their English, "shall" was exortatory. In much of the rest of the English speaking world it remains so.

Two weeks after the O Inauguration, Khan is released. Kind of like right after Reagan’s Inauguration, the hostages in Iran were released. You’re right, this would never have taken place under Bush.

“You’re right, this would never have taken place under Bush.”

I’ll take it a step further. This would never have happened without Obama’s nudge and/or approval.
