I like Sarah a lot, but I'm a woman who is concerned that the majority of the American people is not ready to elect a woman to the presidency or vice presidency. Three viable candidates have tried. Two Democrats, one Republican. All three were soundly defeated.

I think you're wrong. Hillary was defeated in the primary, in a minority vs minority race. Had she won, I think the odds are good we'd have another President Clinton. Had The One been willing to share the stage, she'd be VP, a better one than The Biden.

Neither Ferraro nor Palin were candidates in their own right, they lost based on the head of the ticket.

It's a long way off, but if Sarah Palin can win the primary contest, she can win the Presidency. She hasn't demonstrated that kind of ability, but the opportunity is hers.
