Likely Justice Department nominee faces ethics hurdle

The leading candidate to head the Justice Department office that oversees legal policy and judicial nominations recently has been a lobbyist for several business clients, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and would require a waiver from the Obama administration's recently imposed ethics rules.

The likely nominee to head Justice's Office of Legal Policy, Mark Gitenstein, worked as a lobbyist for the chamber between 2000 and 2008, helping his firm earn more than $6 million in fees, according to federal lobbying records.

There is a lot of change. I don’t recall GWBush offering up this many ccrrupt politicians for his cabinet.

He’s got the worst elements of Carter AND Clinton. If it resembles Clinton’s problems, it is because they are Clinton figures.

I have to be honest here - I don’t have a problem with former lobbyists working in the departments they lobbied before (with restrictions). However, I’m also not an all-talk-and-no-spine / every-rule-can-be-broken noob President who proclaimed that lobbyists would have no place in his administration.
