Times have changed. If your soldiers came down here, they would likely be unable to get a manicure or peticure for weeks or months. They would march 20 about miles without coming across a sushi bar and surrender. At least our soldiers would make it down there. Yours would be so dumb that they'd try to come north and end up falling into the Atlantic Ocean . . . that is, if they could make it by the assorted piles of junk rusting in their front yards, or if they could pry themselves off their sisters or their cousins for the duration.
And it's "pedicure," by the way.

Really?
Revolution = The overthrow of a government by those who are governed.
Secession = The act of withdrawing from an organization, union, or especially a political entity.
Civil war = A war between organized groups to take control of a nation or region.
Revolutionary war = A war to overthrow the government by those who are governed.

Have your laugh! But, we had better get used to the idea that states will be leaving the union if Obama/Pelosi/Ried aren't stopped. Nothing lasts forever and we were warned by our founders.
Forget the civil war crap. Modern states have been seceding since the 1980s. Our Federal "government" has failed and we have rights as state citizens. NH has the ability to go it alone and other states may follow. It won't be fun economically, but politically it may be necessary.
Oh, and forget the Fort Sumter thing. Think Gandhi and Havel.

NH has the ability to go it alone It does? How?

Please kick us out too. We would like to return to our historical constitutional government as prescribed in the now obsolete US Constitution. The sooner you kick us out, the faster we can restore our G-d given rights.
Can we leave by this Friday???

But the declaration of independance only talks about “altering or abolishing” government. It is not specific to revolution. Both a secession and revolution are means to accomplishing this end. So I don’t see how the distinction is relevant.
Surely you are not arguing that people have the right to wage war to overthrow the government, but not to peacefully secede without bloodshed.
To: Durus
While the Revolutionary War thing would be fun, I'd prefer the secession thing. Less violent and, frankly, we should demonstrate to the world that Americans believe that people should be able to govern themselves. I think the Iraqis would be impressed! Isn't that what we just told them????
How soon can we leave???? How about before they piss away another trillion $$$ on Democratic Party enhancement programs!

On the morning of April 19, 1775; ALL of our Ancestors were “Yankees”...or “Rebels” depending on which side of the rifled-musket you were standing on...

Theres a couple of us that just arent in the position to move yet. Be careful friend. There were people who said this in Hitler's Germany. It didn't work out too well for them.
Be ever vigilant!

I would assume you’d have a lot of soldiers switching sides once they’ve seen their first girl in makeup not wearing sweat pants.

There are a lot of patriotic Americans that would fight to preserve the constitution and they will also fight to preserve the union. I don't think this is correct. Americans are dumb and distracted today. Who will die to keep Texas or New Hampshire in the Union? Not the American Idol crown who constantly criticizes the Iraq war and dreams of Whirled Peas! Besides, most of the military sees it our way and... we own all of the guns!!!

I've lived in NH my entire adult life, and while things aren't looking great, it's far from a socialist nightmare like massholechussetts.
The south, not that long ago, was dominated by democrats so obviously there are political solutions. I'm not morally opposed to moving to the south although generally their guns laws are more restrictive then NH and their taxes are typically higher.

Secession would be a state or states leaving the union due to breach of contract, ie. the federal government effectively ignoring the Constitution. The very definition of an "inalienable" right is one that cannot be given up by contract.
To: Durus
I live in NH, too. I would ABSOLUTELY want to secede from the union if the “union” was to nullify itself by overstepping its constitutionally granted authority.
NH has degenerated from the statistical freest state in the union to a “blue” state - moving faster and steadier toward the Massachusetts ideology of bigger government, higher taxes, more unjustifiable spending - all resulting in a mass exodus of native NH-erites replaced by the transplants who left their oppressive states for one with more freedom and prosperity only to vote in the manner that brought their own states the messes they moved to NH to flee.
Democrats are stupid, each and every one of them. They deserve what they get...but WE DON’T.
Again, I live in NH and would vote to secede from the union if it ever came up on a ballot. This “union” isn’t the nation it once was and promised to be...it’s a behemoth of regrettable proportions that threatens to swallow us up in depravity and destruction.

Sees what whose way? That somehow dividing will make us stronger? That's delusional. The liberal elite have wet dreams of being the new party of Lincoln to “preserve the union” while implementing a totalitarian state.
