Here is the article that did it for Daschle.

If I would have seen this yesterday, I would have posted it for everyone.

You know it’s just killing the NYT to have to report bad news on one of their beloved Messiah’s picks.

NEWS FLASH....Daschle has withdrawn!!! Now, he needs to be pursued, tried and convicted by the IRS (they do that, you know) and made to pay the taxes owed + the fitting penalty!

“As a former Senate majority leader, he also knew a lot about guiding controversial bills through Congress, where he remains liked and respected by former colleagues.”

... Frauds like Geithner and Daschle are why we are talking stimilus, and there are millions more like them who haven’t paid their fare share but want those of us who do to bail them and the country out.

“Make no mistake, tax cheaters cheat us all, and the IRS should enforce our laws to the letter,” Daschle said in 1998

I suspect that being a former leader cuts both ways. You make enemies as well as friends along the way. I don't think Tom Daschle was a particularly effective leader, either. But that's just my opinion.

You mean Daschle went and paid those back taxes for nothing?

Boy, I bet he feels stupid. Everyone knows that taxes are just for the little people (and for Obama nominees that get caught).

Obama is going to have to make it up to Daschle by sending some pork to Daschle’s lobbying clients.

There were several Sunday talking-head pundits that said is Geithner got a pass, then Daschle would HAVE to get a pass. Is the opposite now true? Since Daschle screwed up his taxes and withdrew, then maybe Geithner needs to do the same.

“President Obama “absolutely” stands by Tom Daschle’s nomination to be secretary of health and human services ...”

The wheels on the bus go `round-and-`round ...

==> “...Congress, where he remains liked and respected by former colleagues.” <==

Liked - by the Senate sleazeballs.

Respected - by the Senate slimeballs.

That puts him in high regard by over 90% of the Senate!
