Remember the outrage when it was discovered former Merrill Lynch CEO John Thain how he spent over a $1 million to redecorate his office, as meticulously itemized by CNBC correspondent Charlie Gasparino for The Daily Beast?
Merrill Lynch was acquired by Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) in September 2008 and Thain was eventually let go, and the backlash for his extravagant redecorating ensued.
But, this latest indiscretion has gone unnoticed by the media a donation in the amount of $2 million to the ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) Housing Corporation of Chicago, according to a document posted on Bank of America corporate philanthropy Web site which shows the bank had given the total amount in grant money from October 2007 through June 2009.

The government has declared war on the White middle-class, see this video about what's in the stimulus package:
No Jobs For White Male Construction Workers
It's your money they're spending!!!!
So now BofA is my company’s bank, and at the end of the year we asked for a $500,000 overadvance on our $15,000,000 credit line to buy raw materials to ramp up production in our 200 employee facility, after the disaster that was the 4th quarter of 2008. We have a lot of orders but couldn’t buy the raw materials we needed because of our cash starved condition following the 2008 end-of-year order stoppage.
They said no, so we are in Chapter 11 hoping for a financial bailout. Not a great time to be looking for financing or an equity player. Chances aren’t good we’ll make it. The bank will get their money from our collateral but the employees will lose their jobs if we don’t.
Don’t see anything in the bailout package that helps us at all, and we are the kind of business where real jobs are made and lost.
AS a tax payer who’s taxc dollars wee used for that donation I want it returned to the bank now an then BOA can return it to the fund it came from!
Like Academia before them, corporate American (at least the biggest companies) have now been assimilated.
I never EVER do business with Bank of America.
Right, and neither is Moveon.org, the Sierra Club, SEIU....
No sh*t! Why is this getting a pass from the media and Republicans?
Maybe this is their reparation money...But, I have a feeling it won’t end there.
The shakedown begins.
I am a small business owner in the construction industry and I am feeling the pain from both sides - no work but still gotta pay those taxes!!
I feel sick...
Pinging you to the video link at post #22...
Wake up America before it is to late!!!!
Jean, you may have already tried but, if not, this may be the time to show your Senator/Congresspeople this story about BOA giving money to ACORN but turning down your company request which would help keep jobs...
or maybe a call to BOA headquarters....
.....may be pie in the sky but...timing may be right...never know.
Best wishes to you and your employees!
That's a very astute observation. I had never noticed that commonality between all these women before...I wonder if the insanity causes the wild eyed look or if the wild eyedness contributes to the insanity?
There is money is voter fraud and destroying democracy. Why fight it. How do we get ours?
I know exactly how you feel. Every day it's another unbelievable abuse of OUR hard earned money given away. Time for a tax revolt on a massive scale. They have to be stopped, it's spiraling out of control and they won't listen. zer0 is going to get money to ACORN and others like them come hell or high water and I'm not supporting their corruption
Right, and neither is Moveon.org, the Sierra Club, SEIU.
