WASHINGTON -- Senator John McCain says there's too much unnecessary spending and too few tax cuts in the Obama administration's economic proposals to stimulate the economy.
The Arizona Republican and former presidential candidate also complains the plan has no "endgame."
Interviewed Monday on CBS's "The Early Show," McCain said that after the economy recovers the U.S. should "be on a path to a balanced budget."
Instead, he says, the Democrats' plan would burden future generations of Americans with the biggest budget deficit in history.
He says it's time for both parties to sit down and negotiate. He says the Democrats need to consider his party's concerns, especially on cutting taxes.

You really need to grow up. All your little man threats about a list and how you’ll be watching really makes you sound like a nutjob.
*Ping!* for reference purposes.
Oh, and Cedric, I ping other Freepers because, well, you know, it's never smart to go walking about in dark alleys alone, especially with you watching me.
No, just a healthy revulsion for the incessant, obsessive, neurotic, “McCain-Is-An-SOB-RINO” fetish constantly polluting my beloved Free Republic.
Oh, if only I could see less of you.
Um, but he is an SOB RINO!
And, it's part of the cleansing, especially after FR got infested by McCainiacs during the election cycle.
The Party Kool-Aid is rather strong.
Now you’ve done it. There’s a double underline under our names on his hit list now. See what happens when you over stimulate the child troll? He gets all worked up like a Ridlin deprived ADHD brat. Best solution is for all to ignore him.
Let it go.
And let your healing begin!
Excellent advice... look at yourself in the mirror as you say it ten times. THEN you can give it as advice to someone else.
(And don’t forget to double or triple underline MY name on your list.)
Weak.
The healing will begin when McCain, Graham, and the rest of the RINOs, as well as their apologists, are expelled from the Republican Party. Then, and ONLY then.
Only one way left for McCain, that is to stand up against this bill and others that follow. He has to declare this bill bogus, not try to make a deal, and tell his lib friends to F off.
Short of that, he proves what a total traitor he is.
There is no way to make this bill palatable, just no way.
Good analogy. The purpose of elevator music is to melodically lobotomize people in public places to keep them peaceful. That is very similar to what Dem-Lite RINOism is about. Keep the sheeple half asleep so that centralized government can grow unopposed. Music is meant to energize passions while elevator music is meant to quell them. RINOs aim to subvert and quell conservatism.
The bill’s gonna pass with some RINO support, probably including McCain’s.
Purists is a pejorative against people who would not let themselves be seduced into pretending to be compassionate demanding cheap labor forces.
I know it will, but let it pass with no RINO revisions!
Then get rid of the vermin.
It took me a few jumps to figure out what this interchange is about.
I understand that Republican elected must claim on camera they want to work with democrats, PR for clueless public. Problem is McCain and many republicans in Senate are not trustworthy and may really mean it.
Back last year I was telling Freepers we need to covertly encourage the moonbats to push Obama to go Chavis, the more outragous the better. Pelosi’s stimulus bill is a perfect example, it stinks to high heaven and even the RINO’s cant support it. In this way Pelosi is our ally, she is nuts, she will drive democrat train off the track if she is allowed. We really should contact her office and thank her for her compassion to us on food stamps, victims of 8 years of republican greed (without laughing.) My biggest fears is democrats will add a few goodies to buy Senate republicans.
Not sure what we can do about RINOs, except contact them and send them opinion polls that favor us. In many cases they have very liberal voters putting us in a tight situation in Senate.
I know you are, but it’s OK not to publicly out yourself here on FR. Go check your meds again.
