Question. Did you vote for Obama? If yes, then just why are you surprised? You KNEW this was the type of thing he was going to do. You knew. So, why the alarm now? If you did not vote for him, then I understand. But, if you were at the inaguuration, then you must have been an Obama supporter. You could not have got me to go to the puke fest for all the money in Bill Gates bank account.

You would think that such a terrible event as 9/11 would not be easily erased from the public’s mind. But no, seven years later Americans hit the snooze button again, go back to their little world of malls and movie theaters, and are dazzled by vague promises of “hope” and “change,” and forget about that little thing called national security. Why are Americans so complacent and decadent?? This is how Rome went under.

Retired Army, I think the writer’s sentenced is poorly constructed. What I believe the writer is intending to say is that he was at Gitmo when Obama was inaugurated and was there (Gitmo), when the order came down to shut the proceedings down. The court room scene being described appeared to take place just prior to January 20th, more in likely the 19th, according to my reading.
<p.Anyway, that was my take on the statement and article.

She is stating that she was at Gitmo observing the proceedings when he was inaugurated. She notes the hearings were called off the day of the inauguration, then postponed by the new president.
