Unfortunately Rush is off all next week.

Rush might as well enjoy some well desrved time off before the government confiscates all of his cash and shuts down his radio program "for the common good".

Well of course - they don't want to do the heavy lifting by cutting costs and cutting back on state gov services. Let the messiah send them PORKulus money and all will be fine in the states once again and all will live happily ever after.

In AZ we have a new GOP Governor that is doing the heavy lifting after crappy nappy departed for Homeland Security gig leaving a $1.6 B hole for us to dig out of.

Governor signs budget deficit fix after lawmakers' OK

With this "crisis" as an excuse

I believe it was Rom Emmanuel that said "never waste a good crisis."

A 40-Year Wish List, You won't believe what's in that PORKulus bill.

I think that if everyone who is paying taxes puts down 150 exemptions on their W4’s and then marches on Washington two months later, that might get the attention of these beady eyed rodents.

Seriously have a successful civil war where all of the non-leftists win. That’s how.

They are doing it because it’s “free” money. They don’t have to cut the budget as much and they don’t have to ask to raise taxes. It is the coward’s way. And 99% of the politicians ARE cowards.

The anger is bipartisan. All Americans...liberal, conservative, “independent” and “clueless” are all fed up.

These public serpents in power are stupid. We all agree on that. They are as retarded and silly and uninformed as me or you. They are our neighbors and equals.

The difference is that conservatives like us understand that. We don’t want to give them more power.

Liberals want to give these bozos more power and let them run their lives.

I should divide it up. Elitist liberals know they are stupid (they are power hungry but they are not dumb). Their constituents don’t.

They can’t say no to that infrastructure funding as they can cut the states funding to same -meanwhile it’s a boon to the contracting community.

Most Republican governors have broken with their GOP colleagues in Congress and are pushing for passage of President Barack Obama's economic aid plan that would send billions to states for education, public works and health care.

They're willing to set values and principles aside for the cash. That says what they are. Only the price is in question.

Rick who?
How the bailout money could bypass Perry's desk altogether. The tale of two amendments.

A clause in the stimulus package could make pitbull Perry a poodle when it comes to federal money for Texas. House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., was responsible for the amendment, which states

... that if a governor won’t take the money, “then acceptance by the State legislature, by means of the adoption of a concurrent resolution, shall be sufficient to provide funding to such State.” (Text of Sec. 1115 of HR1 attached below.)

There's more...

I’d love to live once again in a nation of people who love our God-given liberty and are willing to take the responsibility required to have it.

Same here. Let me know if you find it. (ie,. I'm wiling to just find a state with people with values for now)

If all the conservatives were in the right half of the country and the libs in the left, that would work easier.

The politicians are taking care of that avenue, between them (left and “right”) they are either pandering to “gimme” voters or preparing ways for a huge influx of the kind of immigrants who come here for the freebies, not for the opportunity to work and be free. There are just too many voters now who are willing to vote for the man who will have the state “take care of them” at the cost of their true freedom (they never knew what it really meant or was for anyway), as opposed to the few of us who would gladly live as simply as necessary, as long as we have the freedom to keep what we earn, raise families as we see fit, the right to freedom of association and worship, and the right to create communities where decency prevails over political correctness. But barring something drastic, those days are long gone, we are out-numbered. The Founding Fathers would mourn if they could see all the ways we are beholden to the state, all the ways we are regulated and taxed at the point of the loss of our natural freedom, after the sacrifices of property and life they made to secure it for themselves and their posterity. I would be ashamed to look them in the face at the way we have all just surrendered that freedom so dearly bought, so that now we can be jailed for not allowing what we earn to be confiscated to pay for things we oppose and which in all of civilised human history, until recently, were accepted in the common sense of being despicable-abortion, living off the sweat of others, supporting perversion, etc.

Yar or nay on what? Nobody even knows what’s going to be in the final bill. Even some Democrat senators like Kent Conrad and the guy from Nebraska have said they won’t support that piece of crap the Pelosi gang sent over. It’s going to be altered radically.

I’m pretty sure you saw this. It puts things in a better light for Palin.

If she thinks the bill is going to pass no matter what, then I see no problem with her trying to get the infrastructure portion set up the way she needs it.

Frankly I don’t like governors being put in this position. If infrastructure is in need to repair, then address it straight up by itself.

This is typical Democrat tactics though. They put necessary things in an omnibus bill and tack on mountains of B.S.
