Important point.
Where ARE they?
Is the media asking???
Did he go down to look at the problem?
Seems like President Bush always went to areas of disaster to see and to talk with the people...
Yet 'bama sits high, dry and very warm in the OO.
Oh I forgot. "HE won. He's King now."
At least Jimmy Carter had the decency to wear a sweater. Over the next 4 years, we’re going to find that Obama makes Carter and Clinton look like saints.
Ain’t that the truth, that this guy will give cover to two of our worst presidents in American history.
According to the FEMA website, there are no “limiting factors or unmet needs” in the areas affected by ice. What is it that FEMA needs to be doing that you assert they are not doing?
A long time if you keep your thermostats at 77. You don't think this is a new thing for him? It's just that now it's out in the open...all the while he was preaching at us how we couldn't have the thermostats at 72...or eat as much as we wanted to, or drive our SUV's ...
Simply the mind set of the Socialist Elite - you plebeians will do on little - we will live large, on money from your pockets.
Not to worry, the utility companies in DC can use the extra revenue (from us taxpayers, of course).
I'd make you a jug of Kool Aide but I don't keep the stuff in my house...;o)
I hate the cold and there's no way you could get me to visit Chicago for longer than a week, let alone live there ... let alone ORGANIZE there.
Doesn't community organizer conjur up images of door to door, store-front offices, I know what you're going through, we have no heat too, and some etcetera's if I continue to ponder this.?
There are two explanations that I can accept.
zero's never been all that he's been written up to be ... or he is truly psychotic, braving the cold and windy city, fighting and stealing his way to the white house, so he can rub his hands and Snidely Whiplash laugh at all us minions.
I predict zero will limit it's public appearances as it becomes more exposed, and our government will be a defacto shadow government.
I could give you a list of things that would have been extremely helpful - but I'll give you just one: water distribution. (No power, no water.)
He’s such a POS. That POS cares about one person, HIMSELF. Where’s the dog his kids have been asking to have for years? He hasn’t lived in Hawaii in over 20 years and was there for a few years when he was young. Hawaii doesn’t have squat to do with being cold. It’s because he’s s skinny little wimp.
Folks with attitudes like yours probably have alot to say about the media that won't ask a follow-up question when someone makes a statement that leaves questions. Ask a damned simple question around here and get lovely comments about kool-aid. Those are some nice conservative values. Good grief.
am I wrong in thinking that FEMA doesn't act independently but upon the direction of the president?
Let's all send a sweater to the Oval Office. (Doesn't have to be a new one - pick one up at Salvation Army - we gotta be thrifty, right?)
If the one who would be king suddenly got swamped with sweaters, that would make a comical news story the press wouldn't be able to resist.
They would include the video of his preaching to us about “you can't have your thermostats at 72, you can't eat all you want to...”
Another layer of sheeple would open an eye... and
(Someone, whose middle name must not again be mentioned, would be livid.)
I wonder how many people will freeze to death while he is watching the Super Bowl.
Our cable is out of order so we will miss it...life is hell in Coxland.
deserves to be warm and toasty.
I can think of such a place - the 7th level should be just about right. :=)
He might have gotten away with shirt sleeves in the summer — on the basis of turning off the AC to save energy.
It makes no sense, whatsoever, to say that he had to take his jacket off, because he was feeling cold and had to crank up the heat.
Then, he had the audacity (without hope) to crack wise about Washingtonians delaying the opening of schools in a deadly ice storm — saying they needed to toughen up. (Imagine if Bush had joked about Katrina.)
Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat. All intelligent people who hate the cold and know how to use simple logic choose to live in places like Chicago. < /sarcasm >
Hmmmm, MY president didn’t diss the office...
Classless Kenyan illegal alien. Post your BC. Let’s see your DD-214. Show us your girly-man salute the loyal Marines at the WH and helicopter.
Zer0 is the President now so I take it seriously. My thermostat's at 74, my truck is bigger and gets worse mileage than an SUV and now I eat more than I want to.
Katrina (from the official White House website)President Obama will keep the broken promises made by President Bush to rebuild New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. He and Vice President Biden will take steps to ensure that the federal government will never again allow such catastrophic failures in emergency planning and response to occur.
President Obama swiftly responded to Hurricane Katrina. Citing the Bush Administration's "unconscionable ineptitude" in responding to Hurricane Katrina, then-Senator Obama introduced legislation requiring disaster planners to take into account the specific needs of low-income hurricane victims. Obama visited thousands of Hurricane survivors in the Houston Convention Center and later took three more trips to the region. He worked with members of the Congressional Black Caucus to introduce legislation to address the immediate income, employment, business, and housing needs of Gulf Coast communities.
President Barack Obama will partner with the people of the Gulf Coast to rebuild now, stronger than ever.
More lies. More promises broken.
