Just heard on Fox News that Judd Gregg (R-NH) is nominee for Commerce Sec. That would tip the senate wouoldn't it?
This is Michael Steele’s first assignment. Make SURE that Gregg stays in the senate.
Sen. Greg Judd

I called his office but I couldn’t leave my message. His mailbox was FULL. Let us hope that he gets the message and he does not SCREW THE COUNTRY by selling out to Obama, Pelosi and Reid!
If he takes the job; his credibility with either party will be in the toilet; and especially his constituents.
I agree. It will be a good test of Michael's leadership.
SENATOR JUDD GREGG: CONFIRMATION OF GEITHNER NECESSARY TO HELP US WEATHER FINANCIAL CRISIS
January 26, 2009
Contact: Andrea Wuebker/Laena Fallon (GREGG)
WASHINGTON U.S. Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) today commented on the confirmation of Timothy Geithner as the new Secretary of the Treasury. The Senate confirmed this nomination by a vote of 60 to 34.
Senator Gregg stated, The United States is facing one of the most significant financial crises in the history of our country, and it is important that we have someone serving as Treasury Secretary who understands how serious the risks are and is committed to helping hardworking Americans, retirees, and businesses during these challenging times. I recognize some of the concerns about Mr. Geithners actions in the past, but it is clear that he has the qualifications and experience to fill this role. Confirmation of Mr. Geithner today was necessary so that the Administration and the Treasury Department can now move seamlessly forward and continue rebuilding our financial markets and restoring confidence in the global economy.
I look forward to working with Secretary Geithner, the Administration and my colleagues in Congress to quickly and responsibly address our economic challenges. Today, the American people are worried about their retirement savings, jobs, home values, and Main Street businesses, and we must continue to work in a bipartisan manner to advance sound public policies that will put us on a positive economic path once again.

Over to you, Mr. Steele.
Warren Rudman?? Might as well appoint a Dem. He’s a liberal Republican who was nearly picked as John Kerry’s running mate, and chaired McCain’s 2000 presidential run.
I hate to say it, but I think the short term fix is in here. Rudman will take the seat and not run next time...
We must all remember that, “In The Age Of Obama” and Chicago style politics, the rules they play by are simple: Everything is for sale and everything can be bought at a price!
I was just about to say that, there is no guartantee that Rudman would vote to keep any possible GOP filibusters.
Good point, he has little experience in the private sector. A MUCH better choice would be Mitt Romney or Ross Perot, men who’ve actually accomplished something in business and understand how capitalism functions.
Same goes for Charlie Bass.
Rudman was always VERY fiscally conservative, it’s the social issues he strays on.
If his state rebukes big gov. spending their going to vote him out and give the biggest spending congress and their president another vote? I think the crappy state of NH has just been infested by too many rats from MA
I'm sick and tired of this crap! A Constiutional Amendment for comgressional service is the way to go.
2/3 of the states would be begging to sign on in a short period of time
3 terms maximum in the House. 2 terms in the Senate! Get them all out of office quick and back home...
rino imo
Even if he agreed, I wouldn't trust a DemocRAT governor to follow through with it.
