Warren Rudman?? Might as well appoint a Dem. He’s a liberal Republican who was nearly picked as John Kerry’s running mate, and chaired McCain’s 2000 presidential run.
I was just about to say that, there is no guartantee that Rudman would vote to keep any possible GOP filibusters.
Rudman’s role was crtical in getting David Souter installed at SCOTUS. He was founding co-chairman of the Concord Coalition, that traveling Hegelian Dialectic Show for limiting discussions about government cutbacks.
What’s important is that he’d have an (R) after his name. /sarc
