A coalition of Democratic-leaning organizations is spending millions of dollars on a campaign aimed at convincing five Republican senators to back the economic stimulus legislation.
The Campaign for Jobs and Economic Recovery, a group of labor and political organizations, is targeting GOP Sens. Susan Collins (Maine), Olympia Snowe (Maine), Judd Gregg (N.H.), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Chuck Grassley (Iowa) with a 30-second spot. The ad includes audio excerpts from President Obamas Jan. 8 speech at George Mason University, when he made his case for the stimulus package that could exceed $900 billion.

The rats are desperate to have some GOP fingerprints on this bill — which was far more pork than it ever was “stimulus” ... essentially another raid on the treasury so Democrats can say “thank you” to rat special interests.
I am pleasantly the House Republicans finally grew a set and figured out that agreeing with Democrats is always a no-win situation. Unfortunately, it heads to the Senate where RINO bootlickers eagerly await their “bipartisanship” bend over ...
All Freepers should be calling these Senators. Our country is at stake. Spread the word to your address lists.

I think we can forget about convincing Olympia Snowe to vote with the GOP. She will ALWAYS roll over if it is in HER INTEREST!
Hey, they leaked their game plan. Goody. Now Republicans need to target back and ask the simple question why it is SO important to get Republican votes in the Senate when they don’t need them to pass the bill.
Instead of spending all of this money to get the GOP to change it’s mind, why don’t they just start their own mini-stimulus package. A few million would go a long way in fixing something.
I haven't been able to get thru.
Hutchison's office told me she came out in opposition to the package this morning.
Exactly democrats don’t want this to be all their bill. I know it is going to be hard to control the RINO’s in the senate. But maybe it can be done. Maybe if they can peel off some democrat senators they can tell them “look if you vote no here and we get a few democrat senators it will mean, like in the house, the only bi-partisanship that went on was democrats and republicans voting no”.
Yes she is one of the worst RINO's we have. But maybe we will get lucky since she doesn't have to run again till 2012.
