The 1st quarter of ‘06 saw 4.8% growth in GDP. Then came dim-0s running for control of congress promising “CHANGE.” They won, and after 2 years in power, things HAVE “CHANGED” GDP growth is now -6%. Happy with your “CHANGE?”
>>I dont think that jobless claims for a week ending four days after the inauguration should be blamed on Obama.
I dont trust the stimulus but lets be realistic.<<
I’m blaming 0bama if a cat gets run over. I’m giving these sob’s the same as they gave George Bush.
With free abortions why do I even need the condoms?
My brother naively asked me the other day when will Obama start to get credit or blame for the economy. I explained to him it’s rather simple...he’ll take all of the credit for anything good and blame everything bad on Bush.
“Im blaming 0bama if a cat gets run over.”
Don’t you mean crediting him? (Apologies to any cat lovers here, I just like cat jokes)
The number of jobless claims is very large right now. It’s the largest on record. What people may want to keep in mind, is that the populace has grown significantly since the last time we had even a moderate downturn in the economy. The figure is a record, but it’s size is somewhat population driven.
The workforce is much larger today than it used to be. So when 7% (I don’t know what it actually is right now, but I believe this is close) are unemployed, more people are unemployed than with the smaller workforce years ago.
The percent is the figure that we should keep a watch on, not the specific numbers. And seven percent, while not very good, isn’t an extremely high number.
California has high eights or a low nine percent unemployment right now, and a few other state bump it from the top spot. That’s getting way too high.
Very sorry to hear that BOT. Good luck to you.
Next we’ll be hearing about Obamavilles.
Or not.
No soup for you!
The democrats won’t admitt this publicly, but privately there are enjoying these layoffs and unemployment upticks.
The democrats and liberals in general LOVE bad news because it makes them and their useless government programs feel important.
God be with you, and may this turn out for your benefit in the long run. We just had our 5th round of layoffs (since August) ourselves today. This is just miserable.
Don’t forget that the workforce has increased by 50% since 26 years ago when the last “record” unemployment numbers at this level were announced.
Lying with statistics...
God has always been with me. Even when I thought I didn’t need Him any more. I’ll come through fine. Thank you for your concern. I pray that your company can turn around and rehire their employees.
There are problems only government can solve!
Is that the mantra they’re looking for?
