Jonesboro High Dance Team Disbanded After Racy Routine
WSB TV (Atlanta) ^ | Wednesday, January 28, 2009

JONESBORO, Ga. -- A high school dance team at Jonesboro High School has been disbanded.

The move announced Tuesday comes after parents complained about a provocative dance routine that was performed by the 8-member group at a Jan. 13 basketball game.

Jacqueline Evans, a school district spokeswoman, said the squad will not be allowed to perform or represent the school for the remainder of the school year.

A video showing the dance, titled "The Sluts of Jonesboro," had also been posted on YouTube, but has since been removed from the web site.

"The team will not perform for the remainder of the year, nor will they represent the school in any other performances,” Evans said Tuesday.

Evans said the girls will not face disciplinary action.

Not too far down the road from some of Atlanta, bouncy pole club/bars. The girl are getting ready to go to work at, as in a Pole Snake career path.

By the way guys, this is from a school in a county in Metro Atlanta that has NO ACCREDITATION!

Seriously, none of these kids will be able to go to college unless they pull something out of their rear soon. This is the second time it’s happened (why I don’t live there anymore and wouldn’t put my kids in the school 8 years ago) and has happened again. They hired a man to the board to ‘fix’ the problem and he is being $250,000 a year to work PART TIME and still hasn’t fixed the problem. It’s been a year.

So this is the county people. All the hard workers moved their kids out of the highschools and this is what’s left.

If I had written that when I was in the 11th grade, I’d have failed English.

Just as an Aside

Jonesboro H.S. is in Clayton County
This is the school system that LOST IT'S ACCREDITATION

http://www.ajc.com/services/content/metro/clayton/stories/2008/08/28/clayton_schools_accreditation.html

Clayton County schools are the first in the nation in the past 40 years to lose accreditation, failing to meet eight of nine improvement mandates.

You have to Bad screw up to do this

After viewing the video I couldn't agree more with your assessment.

I would go further and say the reason to put a halt to this group is the embarrassment to the town, they are awful.

You said — “By the way guys, this is from a school in a county in Metro Atlanta that has NO ACCREDITATION!”

They probably lost their accreditation because that dance team is so terrible. It might have been an outrageous dance routine, if they could have done it... LOL...

Also the county where the sheriff used a swat team to fire the white deputies when he took power.

Same reason behind both sets of facts.

I wonder how the teachers union works out there. The level of teaching and administration has to be atrocious. Of course these girls will be able to do what they want, because without accreditation, the school doesn’t have any rules to follow.

As for the video, nice work to the news company to repost deleted content to show young girls acting inappropriately. I think they get the days Pinhead nomination.

So who’s to blame now ??

Despite her terrible English she makes some good points. The adults who sanctioned this were primarily to blame.

The boys' only contribution to the routine was to ogle the girls. Next time, instead of sitting there drooling, they might at least offer dollar bills for the girls to slip into their waistbands.

Jonesboro dance coach removed as team’s adviser

By MEGAN MATTEUCCI

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Tuesday, January 27, 2009

A Clayton County school employee can no longer coach a Jonesboro High School dance team because the students performed a provocative dance at a basketball game that offended some spectators.

School officials said Wednesday that the dance team coach has been removed as the team’s adviser and is now being investigated by the human resources department. District spokesman Charles White declined to identify the coach, saying it is a personnel matter.

Clayton County is where the fiction Tara in the Gone with the Wind was -wretchedly poor and crime and corruption infested with newly elected sheriffs typically escorting the previous sherrif’s deputies out at gun point.

And that was before the economy collapsed.
