House GOP leader to Rush: Back off By: Jonathan Martin January 27, 2009 04:32 PM EST
Rush Limbaugh may command a large following, but his caustic comments Monday about the GOPs congressional leadership have one of the Houses leading conservatives defending his colleagues and offering an unusually candid critique of the talk radio powerhouse and his fellow commentators.
Responding to President Obamas recommendation to Republican congressional leaders last week that they not follow Limbaughs lead, the conservative talkmeister said on his show that Obama is obviously more frightened of me than he is Mitch McConnell. He's more frightened of me, than he is of, say, John Boehner, which doesn't say much about our party."
Rep. Tom Price, who heads the conservative Republican Study Committee, did not take kindly to this assessment in an interview with Politico Tuesday.
I think that our leadership, Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, are taking the right approach, Price said. I mean, its easy if youre Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh or even sometimes Newt Gingrich to stand back and throw bricks. You dont have to try to do whats best for your people and your party. You know youre just on these talk shows and youre living well and plus you stir up a bit of controversy and gin the base and that sort of that thing. But when it comes to true leadership, not that these people couldnt be or wouldnt be good leaders, theyre not in that position of John Boehner or Mitch McConnell.

Tom Price can go to hell and take those other two RINOs bozos with him.
The Repubs are disgusting. They nauseate me beyond words.
I'll trade you one Limbaugh for the both of these worthless hacks...
L
Congressman Tom Price, representing everything that is wrong with Republicans in Congress.
We need a new party.
They should listen more carefully. Rush has always said, he’s not a Republican, he’s a Conservative.
Hey GOP, either you start representing ME or STFU.
These professional politicians nagging private citizen Rush Limbaugh to leave them alone and shut up makes them look even more foolish and useless than ever before. I would not have thought that possible, but there you go!
**Boehner is a joke...so is McConnel.
Spineless wimps.**
Messrs. Boehner, McConnell, Price, et al. Before you Spineless, Chamberlainian RINO”S, go aiming at RUSH... you may wish to check your HISTORY ... recent History.. like the election of ‘93.
If you want to appease MULLAH HUSSEIN, go right ahead, just don’t expect US to roll over With you... Reach across the aisle like McCain did... and you will continue to LOSE .. like HE DID!!!
Where is the part about what's good for the country?
Don’t look now, but if Big “O” goes after Rush via the “”Fairness”” Doctrine and takes him off the air.... Rush just might be able to get even and lash back by doing just that. By starting a new, 3rd Party to fight the DemocRATS. (NO RINOs ALLOWED).
What a wonderful idea!
‘I think that our leadership, Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, are taking the right approach, Price said.
If that’s what you really think Mr. Price then YOU are part of the problem.’
Tom Price represents Cobb County GA. This is Mr Newt’s old district. He is in a safe seat which befuddles me even more as to why he would say this. The Obama Limbaugh Stimulus Bill is a smarter idea that blowing a cool Tril on abortions, ACORN, and national “diversity” training programs.
“But when it comes to true leadership...”
And, what would Price know about leadership? Rush nailed it. And, these dorks want to appease the DhimmiRat majority because they think the American people are tired of the fussin’ and arguin’??? Don’t think so. If the GOP is going to survive, it first needs to stake a claim to it philosophical underpinnings and make the case, over and over, that conservatives are different from the LibTards.
Faint heart ne’er won fair lady, as we are told... Stand or fall, it’s time for the conservatives to state their case, delineate their principles, and clearly demonstrate the chasm between right and wrong, conservative and liberal, for all to see.
Amen to how Rush responded to this:
Asked to respond to Price, Limbaugh, in an email to Politico, wrote: I don’t know Tom Price. I’m sure he is doing his best but it does not appear to be good enough. He may not have noticed that the number of Republican colleagues he has in the House has dwindled. And they will dwindle more if he and his friends don’t show more leadership and effectiveness in battling the most left-wing agenda in modern history. And they won’t continue to lose because of me, but because of their relationship with the grassroots, which is hurting. Conservatives want leadership from those who claim to represent them. And we’ll know it when we see it.
**(NO RINOs ALLOWED).**
Great name .. can shorten it to ... NRA Party .. dayum that’s already Taken ... Maybe they’d SHARE??
Grow a set, boys
They’re afraid they won’t be allowed to participate in the H of R clique.
Rep. Tom Price should have kept his mouth shut. He’ll be sorry now.
