After less than a week in office, Barack Obama's approval rating plunges 15 points
By DAVID GARDNER 26th January 2009
Barack Obama might have been in office for less than a week, but the euphoria is beginning to wane. The new President's approval ratings have fallen from a stratospheric 83 per cent to a more modest - although still impressive - 68 per cent.
Washington analysts said the scale of the drop in the Gallup poll underlines the immense challenges Mr Obama faces in trying to turn round the U.S.'s battered fortunes. He still remains vastly more popular than his predecessor George Bush - who left office with around 25 per cent approval.

You’re right - it was 34%, not the 25% the author wrote about/made up.
His ratings never were 83% unless they polled the newsrooms?
Pray for America
I think you’ve got that backwards -
Let them issue their own standards. Those states silly enough to go on some whackjob tangent will suffer accordingly. Let the most sensible win.
Why should the Federal Government be in that air standards business anyway ?
In the big picture Olberman is a pimple who isn't fit to lick my shoe sole. Why waste your time on him?
and it will keep going down. That is my prediction.
I just seem to enjoy hating him. He doesn’t even seem to realize that even the leftards who watch him know he’s nuts. He was the same as a sportscaster, even the other sportscasters laughed at him to his face and he didn’t get it. He’s the perfect example of liberal cluelessness.
I can't fault you for that. For myself I find hate a dangerous emotion that can cloud my judgement. I try not to indulge in it when possible.
I don’t think anything could cloud my judgement of KO.
Well, that all despends on...
He is a jerk. No question. Juat don't lower yourself to his level. We are better than him.
83% of Americans were euphoric about the least experienced presidential candidate in the last 150 years? We’re talking certifiably insane here, if true.
It will be nice to be able to compare the press’s bias between Bush and Obama. The full Bush Presidency is in articles available on the web.
let’s see it sink more.
The honky-tonk grifter still has the liberal ladies sacked and hypnotized. Wait until the welfare beer money dries up and oprah and the soap operas go digital this month and the gals lose input of the what-not drivel that tells them how to think. There be pots and kettles banging on every street in America.
Good news!
If he goes below 50%, they will no longer publish it. The Wizard behind the curtain has spoken.
