The Talented Mr. Madoff
By JULIE CRESWELL and LANDON THOMAS Jr.
/snip
An easy answer is that Mr. Madoff was a charlatan of epic proportions, a greedy manipulator so hungry to accumulate wealth that he did not care whom he hurt to get what he wanted.
But some analysts say that a more complex and layered observation of his actions involves linking the world of white-collar finance to the world of serial criminals.
They wonder whether good old Bernie Madoff might have stolen simply for the fun of it, exploiting every relationship in his life for decades while studiously manipulating financial regulators.
Some of the characteristics you see in psychopaths are lying, manipulation, the ability to deceive, feelings of grandiosity and callousness toward their victims, says Gregg O. McCrary, a former special agent with the F.B.I. who spent years constructing criminal behavioral profiles.
Mr. McCrary cautions that he has never met Mr. Madoff, so he cant make a diagnosis, but he says Mr. Madoff appears to share many of the destructive traits typically seen in a psychopath. That is why, he says, so many who came into contact with Mr. Madoff have been left reeling and in confusion about his motives.
People like him become sort of like chameleons. They are very good at impression management, Mr. McCrary says. They manage the impression you receive of them. They know what people want, and they give it to them.

Ping!
If you replace Bernie’s name with Obama in this article, is this who we will find out we elected as President in a few years?
I don’t thing BaCrack is exactly like Bernie but there are some similarities.

> The desciption above also applies to current top management of major banks, Slick and Hildebeast, and probably Obama. Madoff is not an exception to the norm, but is a typical sample of current financial and political elites.
As well as many senior management in most companies, many people at partner-level in most law an accounting offices, many top civil servants, many performing artists, some in the medical profession, many people in Law Enforcement...
There are alot of psychopaths out there. For real. Only a few of them go on to commit serious crimes.
The galling thing is that the rewards systems are usually tuned to encourage their antisocial destructive behaviors
Legal and financial profession all churn out complicated mechanisms which make public bewildered but they can wrap it with feel-good sound bites while they exploit it to the max to line their pocket.
The psychopath is the individual with a broken moral compass; no sense of right or wrong only what is expedient. Pretty much a definition of liberalism; no right or wrong, just do whatever you want without consequence.
People like him become sort of like chameleons. They are very good at impression management, Mr. McCrary says. They manage the impression you receive of them. They know what people want, and they give it to them.
Behold the king.
A psychopath never had the compass installed.
Shows how a constitutional democracy gets finished off. These types clearly depend on the freedoms of our fragile democracy to pull off crooked schemes.
All of these people kneel in obeisance to the three-headed monster: Political Correctness, Moral Relativity and the "Hyphenate Entitlement."
Madoff scared off anyone who dared suggest he was a crook by playing the all-occasion Hyphenate Entitlement card. Madoff knew tolerant and compassionate political correctness protected him and his Hyphenate Entitlementwith laws, and federal giveaways, in return for campaign cash and hyphenated voting blocs.
From public schools to the Halls of Congress, on down to the White House, and over to the USSC, "Animal Farm" is now the law of the land. Some Animals Are Above The Rest. Scientific methodology is the means and methods for the fittest among us to survive......ask Bernie....he knows how that works.
Also explains the obsession with religious cleansing of America, and its politics, by those "uncomfortable" with the religious precepts most Americans live by.
We face an uncharted future, thanks to malevolent, unchecked, unbridled greed and avarice......and we even get to clean up the figging messes (gag).
What is clear is that these malicious individuals and their life of lies, lack the distinctive American character that strengthens the business of democracy.

Amen — well said!
Who cares why he did it. He deserves to spend the next 50 years in jail.
American corporate structures promote psychopaths. If you had all of them take a PCL-R test, I would guess that mid-level psychopathy would be scored in about 85 - 90% of the cases.
Since they are destructive, they end up damaging the companies. But, since they have no "conscience", only a malignant narcissicism, they simply don't care, blame it on others, and typically move on.
Be Careful. (/s)
Abe Foxman and Morris Dees are on the lookout for anyone who dares criticize the greedy Madoff or his greedy clients. And I mean 'clients'. They are the furthest thing from being "victims". They wanted those unrealistic returns and didn't care how or where it came from.
An aside: By Federal Law they (the early 'investors') should be prosecuted too. They perpetuated and profited by Madoff's scam!
Foxman and Dees? You mean the two criminals about to be indicted for obstructing and delaying US justice....who used "scare tactics" to wave off investigations.
Foxman and Dees? You mean two criminals about to be indicted for obstructing and delaying US justice....who used "scare tactics" to wave off investigations that allowed a criminal enterprise to prosper.

Im Ted. Trust me. Wanna go for a ride in my car?
