PRESIDENT OBAMA TAKES ON RUSH LIMBAUGH IN NEW MEDIA WAR
WASHINGTON -- President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.
"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.
One White House official confirmed the comment but said he was simply trying to make a larger point about bipartisan efforts.
"There are big things that unify Republicans and Democrats," the official said. "We shouldn't let partisan politics derail what are very important things that need to get done."
That wasn't Obama's only jab at Republicans today.

Don't you think there are about as many black, brown, and yellow men AND women who have a stake in protecting our constitution? There are millions of black men and women with a strong interest in maintaining the unconstitutional transfer of "goodies" from the productive class to themselves. A lot of "browns" in that group, too. Probably no "yellows".
That group is a major component of 0's constituency.

There is also a thing called localism, and it’s likely that Obama will use it.

I’m sad to say this, but this may not be a fight we want. They are guarding all the doors, and they are holding all the keys.
In other words, Obama is waging a war he knows he can easily win.

Rush Limbaugh is not a Republican, so listening to him could not engender partisan politics.

But like Rush said about McModerate....if you rely on the media to make you....they can also break you
And THAT is exactly why Rush SHOULD have endorsed a conservative candidate in the primaries, because isn't that exactly the reason why Rush has always presented himself as an alternate to the liberal lamestream media? He reaches over 20 million listeners each and every day, can the NYT or any of the alphabet networks claim that?
It's not about Rush "carrying anyone's water", it's about Rush educating his vast numbers of listeners about WHY they should get behind one candidate or another, based NOT upon their personality, but upon their positions on the issues.
Ronald Reagan already had a national following, but for a candidate espousing true Reaganite values, that sort of national following needs to be built, and Rush can either be part of the construction team, or he can stand on the other side of the street yelling at the workers about what they should or should not be doing, you know what I'm saying here?
I say "Rush, put on a pair of coveralls, grab yourself a hammer, and get your hands dirty."

I find this kind of comment by a sitting President rather chilling and even more frightening because Obama wants him silenced. He wants no arguments against his policies, period.

Obama has just elevated a harmless, loveable little fuzzball to be his equal. I would think that it is beyond the dignity of the White House to attack a radio host.Yeah, Rush is in Obama's head. Big time. Just in office 3 days and he is 'attacking' Rush.
The psychology of this is just fascinating. This is a classic symptom of a Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Of course, all here have recognized that with Obama early on. And related with someone with a narcissistic personality disorder is the messiah complex.
Obama is actually easy to figure out psychologically. Unfortunately, the MSM too suffers from visions of grandeur and messiah worship.....
It's going to be a looooong 4 years.
God save us all.

“I’m sure this will play out, figuratively, in the next four years. I bet on Obama. Course, I’m not a commie lover.”
I’m sure it will play out, as well. Putin is old-school KGB, and is a ruthless thug. He knows how to play dirty in ways Obama can’t even fathom. I hope you are not suggesting I’m a commie lover, because there is very little I hate more than communism.

I have a hunch this is the stupidest thing Obama could have done. Rush’s already great ratings will soar thanks to BO’s
free advertising and, make no mistake, when people tune in Rush will not disappoint.

We are a country that when things get bad, we help each other. A tornado hits...we all pitch in and help, 9/11 and we all cried together and then helped, hurricanes hit and we pull together (Katrina was an anomaly for various reasons) and does not represent the American spirit we've seen in other southern states devastated. My point being if we spiral downward economically...we won't let our neighbor starve to death. WE will pull together to help each other.
But, remarks like this from the Whitehouse are divisive. He attempts to force the People's Representatives to choose which side. If he keeps tactics like this up...it will trickle down to the people themselves and instead of uniting our nation in tough times, we will have to really pick sides.

Sigh. Such a display of leadership these last three days. Very poor leadership. This guy was never ready for the big chair. I’ll bet his smoking habit will be up quite a bit over the next few weeks. Especially after Rush’s show on Monday.
The sheeple have chosen a President worse than Jimmah. 2010 is going to be interesting.
Go Rush!

'stop listening to Rush Limbaugh', 'I won'.
President Scatterbrain needs a refresher course on the concept of our three, but separate, branches of federal gov't.
It works like this, idiot: although you "won", (on account of a record number of illiterate, and/or naive people voting), the executive branch is not, repeat not, a monarchy. Congress, (especially Republicans and a few sane Democrats), as inconvenient as it may be to you, are perfectly within their right to challenge you, and attempt to thwart you, when you intend to do stupid things. (Expect this to occur a lot in the next four years as doing stupid things seems to be a habit you don't appear capable of shaking off).
And as you walk around the White House and see the portraits of Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Coolidge, Reagan, and a few others, keep this in mind: they are all infinitely more intelligent than you could ever wish to be.
