Remember the show Seinfeld?
In one episode, George, currently unemployed and living with his parents, decides to do the opposite of whatever hes thinking.
As a result, he gets a beautiful girlfriend and his dream job with the Yankees. If youre thinking of strategies to jumpstart your career or job search, remember George. Do the opposite. Mix it up. Make it different.

If Obama took this advice, I might vote for him in 2012.
LOL!
What about the article did you disagree with? I just took it as a different way to relate the “think outside the box” philosophy.
Let’s see... Dan Quayle was blasted for drawing correlations between fictional characters and real-life situations. Now it’s taken for granted.
I get it.
Instead of a suit, should I wear shorts?
Instead of a tie, wear a t-shirt?
How does one “think outside the box” in something as serious as a job interview where facial movements are checked?
In an economy which is in the crapper, there are only so many things one can do. Doing the opposite however, is probably not the best advice {that is the understatment of the year}
Wanna go out?
You might want to consider CNBC’s ratings before you take career advice from them.
Especially advice based on a show that was about four completely self absorbed idiots which signified nothing, as opposed to being about ‘nothing’.
Just a thought....

Can I interest you in some latex/latex products?
As one politician here in Kentucky says repeatedly, "If you keep doing what you've always done, you're always going to get what you've always got."
Instead of not grabbing the secretary's arse I should grab it?
And you want to be my latex salesman...
I’ll say it again though, there are only so many things you can change for a job interview. Most “thinking outside of the box” will merely be things held against you.
I would argue that this advice could do more harm than good.
I don't always base what is smart on how popular the message's deliverer is.
That's right. I'm a conservative Republican. : )
LOL!
I have Vandelay stock - they are an import/export company, I think. ;^)
Last week I, and three others, conducted interviews of 12 people looking for a job. To be honest, I was glad when one of them said something a little different than the other 11. Now, granted, he didn't get the job . . . but that was just based on he was straight out of college and didn't have comparable experience. However, he's the one we remembered.
Man, what a tough spot you’d need to be in, to draw inspiration from a fictional character on a cancelled TV show....

"Ohhh, I think you FReeper men are soooo hot!"
