President Barack Obama's choice for spy chief, Dennis Blair, said Thursday that U.S. intelligence agencies should seek ways of working with Iran on issues of mutual interest, underscoring the new administration's interest in engagement with elements in the Islamic state.
"While policymakers need to understand anti-American leaders, policies and actions in Iran, the intelligence community can also help policymakers identify and understand other leaders and political forces, so that it is possible to work toward a future in both our interests," retired Admiral Blair said on Thursday in a prepared statement for a Senate hearing on his nomination as Director of National Intelligence.

I’d like to know where Iran has “mutual interests” with us that we could expect cooperation with them.

After Iran nukes NY or any other U.S. major city, I wonder how long the diplomatic honeymoon will continue with them?

"And what exactly might those be?? " Well, with the innauguration of America's first Arab president, i suppose those would be...
1) The destruction of Israel.
2) Establishment of a Muslim caliphate.
3) Jihad against the infidels.
Should keep Blair and his boss busy for the next four years.

The
"mutual interest" is simply money.
They want a lot of our tax dollars and the new Prez will be eager to give it to them.
Standing behind Iran will be North Korea, Libya, Palestine, and the rest of the regular rogue cowardly nations.

The anti-American Hussein Obama has much incommon with terrorits, notice who he spoke with first:
(from RedState.com)
So his first call outside the US went to the leader of Fatah, who has terrorist background and terrorist units reporting to him, such as the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade? How comforting. Even as a tip of the hat to his focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, shouldnt the first call have been to Americas ally, Israel? In fact, the choice of this particular conflict makes little sense. We have nations actually fighting alongside of us in Afghanistan in our own war on terror. Nations like Canada, the UK, Australia, Holland, and others have joined us in combat and taken casualties to help further the Wests goal of defeating al-Qaeda and the Taliban. They should have gotten more attention from our incoming president if only to recognize their sacrifice and ongoing commitment to our shared cause.
Instead, Obama chose to reach out to Abu Mazen, who participated in the plot to kill Israeli athletes in Munich during the 1972 Olympics, and who still runs terrorist organizations out of the Palestinian Authority.

Well, Admiral Blair could invite Ahmadnutjob over to his house for barbeque-
then maybe take him water skiing behind an aircraft carrier or something.

It's a shame FDR wasn't as brilliant as Obama. If he had just sent Secretary of State Cordell Hull and Lieutenant Laurance F. Safford of the Division of Naval Communications to chat with Hitler and with Hirohito, those two despots would have seen that we are great guys, and that whole WW II thing could have been skipped.
