For decades, a consistent media theme has been that liberals are far more concerned about the environment than conservatives.
If such is the case, why did the folks attending Barack Obama's inauguration on Tuesday treat our nation's capital like a toilet?
Consider the picture to your right as well as the embedded video below while you formulate an answer:

These are largely the drags on society and who likely live in the same level of trash within their houses.
Could the same not be said for most liberal-controlled cities?
Because, like everything else in Liberalism, it’s not about doing the right thing, it’s about telling everyone else how to live their lives, while at the same ignoring said rule themselves.
Expressed in other circles as “Free speech for me, but not for thee.”
Just to be fair: were there any trash cans? It’s common practice to eliminate them at high-security public events, like Times Square at New Year.
If liberals were consistent, they would live in mudhuts and taxi minorities via rickshas free of charge for a lifetime.
Go drive through the neighborhoods where he got 95% of the vote. Trust me, the mess they left behind in DC is a relative paradise compared to what they do to their own homes and neigborhoods. No self respect - why expect they would respect public property?
Guess the Obamabots didn't get the message. LOL!
because that is what government is for!
Why should they? That's what your tax dollars and illegal aliens are for. Besides, most of them are either members of "protected" classes or guilt-ridden-whiney-assed-bedwetter whites who worship at the feet of those protected classes.
Just sickening as we watch this spiral into hell
For those who haven't seen it yet, check out Groups Struggle to Clean Up Mess Illegal Immigrants Leave Behind:
"In 2006 alone, more than 1.18 million pounds of trash was collected along southern Arizona border, . . . Arizonia officials have spent approximately $4.4 million over five years . . . Nearly $1 million was spent for 2007 . . . ."
Michelle Malkin has a lot about this at her site too.
Because they figure that middle class taxpayers will hire someone to clean up after them at least thats what the demoncRAT-majority controlled Congress will do. What did that ole reprobate Charlie Rangel—the middle class is busy with their lives they won’t even fuss when they’re being cheated.
That’s me. I bring my garbage into the house from my car.
LMAO! that is the truth, albeit hilarious.
Look in a Bush stickered car and you will see the garbage on the floor.”
Both of my vehicles have a kitchen sized trash bag clamped in front of the glove boxes, with the door of the glove box holding it up. I can pitch any trash I have while driving-eating —drinking—gum, etc, and I just change the bags when necessary. I usually am driving all alone, so this is easy.
I was just thinking about that the other day. An Obamabot couple I know spent months peeing their pants with excitement because he was going to push volunteerism (never mind that it’s not really volunteering if it’s forced).
I called to ask them to work a concession stand shift at the ball game (the proceeds benefit a program their son is involved in). Said they’d check their schedule and call me back. Of course they never did. lol Hubby and I ended up working the shift instead.
They want their son to be able to buy food and drinks at the concession stand and want the benefits of the proceeds but sure don’t want to do any of the heavy lifting. :/
Why can’t the eco-conscious liberals clean up after themselves?
For the same reason they can’t -and won’t - do anything for themselves.
“Just to be fair” all that litter was brought in by the crowds. Is is too much to ask of them to take it back home with them? It is personal responsibility. We teach it to scouts as they hike and camp and is the mantra of hikers everywhere. Those people chose for someone else to clean up their mess. Did they even think about who was going to clean it up?....probably not...
