Patterson said at the start that he wanted to appoint someone who could be counted on to get re-elected. Otherwise the seniority would be wasted.
I suspect Andrew Cuomo. The guy is a corrupt crook, but he has a lot more experience and appeal to typical NY voters than any of the other candidates.

Kennedy was her poor performances in media interviews...So the bottom line is that Kennedy would not have helped (and may have even hurt) the Democratic Party therefore she was not selected. The public polling just didn't hold up for the Dems. Qualifications and service to the country were just after thoughts.
