WASHINGTON (AP) — Sen. John McCain is imploring his Republican colleagues to drop partisan demands and let the popular president get to work.

The Arizona Republican made his first comments on the Senate floor since his rival, President Barack Obama, was sworn into office.

He said the nation has come together in a way that it has not for some time. McCain was speaking in defense of Hillary Rodham Clinton's appointment as the next secretary of State. Senate leaders had planned to confirm her by unanimous consent on Tuesday, but Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn objected because of concerns raised about foreign contributions to her husband's charity.

A roll call vote was planned for late Wednesday.

That would be ‘not be such a BAD idea’ ... I’m feeling the same need.

He’s ‘Obama’s Boy’?

Ya know...we have some very talent posters in this forum.

How hard is it to put John McCain’s head on the ‘Obama Girl’s’ body and make it dance?

Just a thought....one thats got me laughing as I type this.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said President Obama needs a secretary of state “right now, this minute” to be an “advocate on the world stage.”

“There’s no better advocate than Hillary Clinton,” Graham said. “I enthusiastically support her.”

Translation: “She’s got my FBI file, pictures and videotapes”.

“Good Lord, how dumb is this guy?”

The depth of his stupidity is only exceeded by his arrogance.

Let me make a bold prediction: Dirty Harry and Fancy Nancy are going to push for unadulterated Marxism. Oba Mao and McCain will propose that we water it down just a little. It will be hailed as bipartisanship on the part of Obacain.

Yes McCain is up for reelection in 2010. With Napolitano at Homeland Security, I assume he will win again.

I'm friggin RELIEVED this dolt lost. Imagine having to grin and swallow all the BS laws he supports all because he's a fellow GOP’er. GLAD!!! I tell ya. GLAD !!!

Mickey Kaus who's in Washington for the festivities wrote this morning in Slate that all the "[c]onservatives I've met in D.C. so far have been near-ebullient, not downcast or bitter. Why? a) They know how unhappy they'd be now if McCain had won; b) Obama has not fulfilled their worst fears, or even second-to-worst fears; c) now they can be an honest, straight-up opposition. ....".

And his arrogance is only exceeded by the idiocy of republican primary voters to nominate this lemon.

TaDa!

But they won’t call it marxim or socialism, they’ll call it ‘unity’ and ‘change’.

Get lost, senator.

The only reason you didn’t lose all 57 states was because you had Sarah as your veep.
