I don't that our party is doing enough to unite behind Sarah. I feel that there is a steady effort to disown her at the RNC and among East Coast elites.
But I have also talked to some run of the mill conservatives recently who are not Palin fans, and that shocked.
I get the feeling that Governor Palin has a lot of work to do. 2012 will be an uphill battle. But I wanted to ask you all..
Why are so many Republicans dead set against her ? and why is her support seemingly frozen at the moment ? Palin fatigue ?
...maybe because I disagree with the following?
“FFL [Feminists for Life] has emerged as the link between the pro-life and pro-choice worlds, working on efforts such as the enforcement of child support and, the Violence Against Women Act” (Sacred Heart University, “President Of Feminist For Life Of America To Address Sacred Heart” ).
She is not in the RNC succession to power. They have someone else picked and the RNC will do whatever it can to keep her repressed in the voters eyes.
I haven’t sent the RNC money for 4 years and have no plans to ever send them money again. I donate to MY choice. Not theirs.
Go Sarah!
The problem is that Palin is not a real conservative. She is a feminist populist.
Because they’re not republicans. They’re squishy “centrists” who are way too swayed by the leftist media. Our next door neighbors are like this. I asked them “do you like Palin?” and the answer is “no, she doesn’t have enough experience”. Whenever you hear a talking point like this, don’t bother, you’re dealing with dem lites talking out of both sides of their mouth.
I really like Gov. Palin but as a future Pres. candidate she isn’t my first choice. She is not media savvy (she allowed her media enemies to define her) and she isn’t particularly articulate. After eight years of Dubya’s non-communication, we need Jindal.
Oops, mistake, fell into a Austin Powers mode.
“Yeah, baby, dig the love.”
WOSG, freedom-loving *and* free-loving citizen. ;-)
“We have bigger fish to fry right now.”
I have the cooker stoked with hot oil and we can’t wait 3 years to see what the RNC has planned for us. Now is the time to cook for 2010 and 2012 and I am not waiting for the RNC to find some lamer RINO with the spirit of bi-partisanship. SCREW BIPARTISANSHIP!.
We have to be ready to
TAKE
when Obama TANKS.
I disagree that a Republican candidate will be a sacrificial lamb in 2012. That assumes a very successful Obama presidency, which is hardly a given with the problems he faces and his leftist ideas.
I believe that some Republicans simply fear her conservatism, others have bought into the media bashing of Palin and some are simply elitist snobs that probably thought Reagan was unelectable, too. Fortunately, these Republicans are in the minority - and have to kept there.
In a related question
Why do so many in Alaska dislike Sara Palin?
Have you checked the “local” polls lately?
A rather intellectual conservative friend of mine—and a longtime part of Republican politics—expressed horror of her ignorant performance with Katie Corric (which I didn’t see), and said that she didn’t appear to have the grounding of a true conservative—and was just a social conservative.
Our ex-President W, lets not forget, was the same way. NOT a genuine small government conservative on anything but pro-life issues....
So I think some conservatives simply do not want to get burned again—by an attractive, but non-conservative-ideologically committed, social conservative.
When somebody can’t handle an interview with Katie freakin’ Couric, the only sane response is to turn to the bullpen and yell “NEXT!”
Because they are not conservative.
So you agree with the progressive rats that a womans place is in the home raising her kids??
Kinda sexist isn’t it?
I think the family should make that decision, not some pundit annoited media hack.
You mean the one where a DJ doing a Pepe Le Pew “French Accent” pretended to be President Sarcozy?
Hey. Another post election newbie dissing a real conservative. Read below......
“”Palin would be a disaster for us in 2012.
Have you listened to that prank call perpetrated on her by those french-canucks? She came off like a fool.
I like Palin, but she was not ready for prime-time, and her multiple poor performances will dog her.””
“and why is her support seemingly frozen at the moment ? “
Because Palin won’t be on the scene for awhile, and we have much work to do to prepare.
She handled it fine,,, it was clearly edited. You see what you want to see. The only mistake there was to even grant her an interview until she had appeared on outlets that would let her get her message out unedited, such as talk radio shows.
that’s the one.
Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbEwKcs-7Hc
Thinking that Palin could succeed as a Presidential candidate after something like that is a dream.
“Now is the time to cook for 2010”
My point exactly - Congress, Gov races, House leges, local, US Senate.... lots of progress that we need to make to restore American freedom.
