Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Norma McCorvey, the former Jane Roe of the infamous Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, has recorded a new television commercial speaking out against abortion. The commercial is running on stations in several states as the part of educational campaigns pro-life groups are undertaking.

"Back in 1973, I was a very confused twenty-one year old with one child and facing an unplanned pregnancy," she says in the ad. "At the time I fought to obtain a legal abortion, but truth be told, I have three daughters and never had an abortion."

"Upon knowing God. I realize that my case which legalized abortion on demand, was the biggest mistake of my life," McCorvey says about her conversion to Christianity and adopting a pro-life position.

McCorvey condemns the fact that the case that carried her fictitious name resulted in approximately 50 million abortions in the thirty-six years since then.

She concludes the 60 second ad with the words: "You read about me in history books, but now I am dedicated to spreading the truth about preserving the dignity of all human life from natural conception to natural death.”

VirtueMedia, a non-profit pro-life group based in Arizona that has produced dozens of professional pro-life commercials on abortion and other pro-life topics, is behind the new ad.

The group tells LifeNews.com that McCorvey's commercial has been airing heavily this month in Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska, and other states across the nation.

"There have been overwhelmingly positive responses from viewers who have seen the ad, yet, on the flip side, there have also been many controversial responses from those against protecting the sanctity of life," the group said.

"It is evident by these emails, that McCorvey's courage to speak out on the evils of abortion, and her redemptive story, is touching hearts, changing minds -- and again creating controversy -- but now, from the other side," it continued.

VirtueMedia uses the immense reach and impact of media to give a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves- the unborn, aged, and most vulnerable.

Their creative ads are licensed to Right to Life groups, and have aired across North America and foreign countries in both English and Spanish.

Hey, I lived that dam roe V wade, and she lied. It’s just that simple. ASK HER!

McCorvey has stated that she lied when she said that the pregnancy was the result of rape, that's it. McCorvey NEVER had an abortion.

Do you not believe that she has been forgiven by God? Do you believe in God's forgiveness? Are you familiar with Saint Paul's conversion?

Oooooh, I'm shaking. Yes, I would say it to your face. Once upon a time, Norma McCorvey was a tool. She has since done more to advance the pro-life cause than ten of your ilk, pally.

Go ahead and hold on to that hatred. See how many lives that saves.

You seem to have some built up tension. Maybe you need another drink. I deal with people with your anger problems on a daily basis; they also are unforgiving and think to much of themselves. As for walking away, that may be true; I might simply skip away and laugh.

McCorvey was a pawn of the abortion movement, other than falsely stating that the pregnancy was the result of a rape what did she lie about?

It doesn’t appear to have been sarcasm.

I’m sure you must be joking; you can’t be that hostile on such a conservative forum. I am waiting for you to say HaHaHa. Go ahead and say it, it will make you feel better and give the rest of us fair-minded, conservative, moral, and ethical participants of this forum some relief.

So, the one four in your screen name—that’s a reference to your age? I recognize the ‘meet me after school’ threats from observations made in the hallways when I was teaching middle school.

I will not shut up.

Seriously. Explain how you do more to safeguard lives against abortion than Norma McCorvey has done. You're ranting and raving and making precious little sense. Why not explain your importance?

I don’t drink and know of no tension, rarely think of myself and am forgiving. Skip and laugh if you will, but maybe you should get a day job.

no, just hatred. He reminds me of the Pharisees of the New Testament. He forgets that Christ forgave the harlot and told the Pharisees to throw the first stone if they were without sin.

Oh, I’m sure God forgave her, but I don’t.

Now that's just incredible hubris. You're looking forward to burning in Hell, then? You fancy you know better than God who is worthy of forgiveness?

My friend, you are in serious need of prayerful soul searching.

Saint Paul was personally involved in the persecution and death of Christians, he then became Christ’s greatest evangelizer.

I have a day job; apparently you did not read my posts! I deal with people with anger problems like yours everyday—today it was 92. You must have thought I was joking earlier. So you are not only unforgiving, you are unable to believe what others tell you. This means that your problem is not only anger management but a lack of social skills and probably a lack of self-worth. We are all here to help you out. Think of this as your own forum to help you.
