The original BSG really wasn't very good. I understand the "re-imagined" version is vastly superior. I wouldn't know. I've never seen it. When they decided to be politically correct and "re-imagine" Starbuck and Boomer into women, I immediately wrote them off.

I was a kid when the original was on - I LOVED it. The new BSG sucks. Granted, there are hot women on the new version, no doubt, but that’s the only thing the new has over the old.

Just my opinion, of course.

Actually, I have to say that the new BSG is vastly superior and fantastically well done.

the series is excellent. if you’d rather look at some douche bag guy than than the actresses playing Starbuck and Boomer, well, that’s your problem

You are imagining political correctness where there is none and you are allowing your prejudice to keep you from the single best show on television.

The blue screen, computer generated background was not available. Makes all the difference.

LOL. Serious commentary from Face? He was much better in the A team.

Witness the “re-imagined” “Battlestar Galactica,” bleak, miserable, despairing, angry and confused.

Well, if 99.99% of the human race were wiped out and you're one of the few survivors I would expect it to be bleak, miserable, despairing, angry and confused.

Also, Starbuck version 2.0 could kick Starbuck-classic's butt every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Dirk still ticked about Starbuck being a girl? Or ticked because he wasn’t invited to the new party like Richard Hatch was?

The new BSG has its moments, but it is boring as all feminine things are. I’m suprised that the show just doesn’t end with everyone just giving up and taking a handful of tranquilizers.

Its TV. Its not real. The stories are decent and the actors are pretty good. The effects are well done.

But, its TV.

Jeeze.....

"Witness the “re-imagined” “Battlestar Galactica blog by ex-Galactica star Dirk Benedict ,” bleak, miserable, despairing, angry and confused.

Fixed it. For some reason Benedict has a big 'ol burr up his arse about the new show which is so far suprior to the original a comparison of the two is not apples to oranges but apples to wax fruit.

Benedict is just bitter cause Kara Thrace has a bigger set than his Starbuck ever had.

The series is much better than the original. If anything, it is very true to the underlying story of the original while telling a story of tragedy and loss.

“Faceman” knocks it out of the park! Bookmarked, and thanks for posting this article.

It depends what “not very good” means. At the time it was excellent, coming right on the heels of Star Wars (the original one, what is it called now? #4??) By today’s standards Star Wars wasn’t particularly good either, but back then it was mind-blowing stuff...

I remember theold one as a kid and loved it, too. I sort of like the new one but it is depressing. Those people are messed up and then they get to Earth and it’s a burned out cinder (well, at least the part they land on).

“A reluctant hero who found humor in the bleakest of situations.”

Exactly what the bleak and despairing current BSG lacks and needs but can and will never have.
