bigheadfred's nephew, Sgt. Evan Vela
Curtis Carnahan bought a shirt he bought in Washington, D.C., that for him, says it all -- "I love my country, it' s the government I'm afraid of."

Yesterday’s interview with fred’s brother, Curtis.
Should have got a medal not a prison sentance. The father is right he was a politcal scape goat. Tho i wouldnt count on the Obamamarxist to even consider a pardon.
Right sorry I am to hear about that. Ought to have been given a medal IMO or a pardon at the very least.
THis is how I am celebrating today's events
Appeal to Obama to reduce his sentence to time served.
Also now that Bush is out of office he'd have plenty of time to testify. Ask for discovery on all documents and that Bush be made to give a deposition about what he knows about the case and the interaction of the Iraqi government in this matter. Usually when an attorney gets discovery to a sufficiently high level in these matters the government folds up agrees to settle for time served. They simply don't want the embarrassment.
You may also appeal to the Court of Appeals for release pending discovery or a rehearing on the case. You'd be surprised what a FOIA can bring up out of Pentagon records, and its effect on civilian US Courts. Remember, Obama has pledged to give the Gitmo detainees US criminal trials...you should appeal for that or for release on time served. The Obama administration will quietly fold up if you get this matter on talk radio and generate enough mail to him and the Congress.
Its going to look pretty bad for him and the rest to have this poor soldier in jail when they're releasing people who murdered our soldiers and civilians. What kind of justice is that.
Suggest you contact Sean Hannity and appear on his new TV show he's looking for something like this.
Call WABC Radio in NYC, 1-212-613-3800, and ask for James Grisham his brother in law and producers voice mail. If he doesn't bite try Savage, Levine, or Quinn & Rose the Warroom. Also Olie North is probably looking for a cause, and he knows what its like to be in the throws of the US Justice system. God Bless and Good Luck.
There’s a guy in my area that during the elections had some stuff written on the back window of his truck, that ended in “freedom isn’t free” and he had two big flags as well. I saw him the other day, and the flags are gone and written on the window is “beware the obamanation of our country...(something I couldn’t make out)...freedom isn’t free”.
That being said, I would never suggest to anyone to serve in the US military when the Dem's have control of both houses of Congress, and or especially when there is no Conservative is in charge of the White House.
You can bet they'll hang the warriors out to dry every time!
Me too. Only mine is in my window.
The basic concept of a citizen-soldier pretty much disappears under these circumstances, and soldiers are nothing more than pawns to be pushed around a chess board by people who, quite frankly, really don't give a sh!t about them. Some of the best soldiers and best military units this country ever produced were those who didn't answer to some @sshole in Washington and could barely controlled by anyone more than one or two ranks above themselves. Some quick online research into storied quasi-military groups like Daniel Morgan's 11th Virginia Regiment, the Green Mountain Boys (they didn't fight for an independent United States; they fought for Vermont), Marion's Men, the original Texas Rangers (the U.S. military leadership actually feared them, but left them intact because they were far and away the most effective force against Commanche warriors), and even the infamous "Charlie Company" that basically engaged in a mutinee against their commanding officer in Vietnam in 1970 (this was the subject of the CBS documentary "The World of Charlie Company" in 1970) will give a good picture of what made America great in the past.
Thanks for posting this, Ma. I am a little disappointed they didn’t add some of the juicier things my bro had to say. We still have the Appeal. And you never know, Obama may give some relief just to spite George.
I know...and my son is shipping off to Iraq in about a month :(
I can’t believe it.
Exactly!
Guys like him are real hero's IMO, and are worth thousands more than one typical politician in DC.
Heck!, guys like him are America!
My heart goes out to Fred’s family as many here.
My prayers are with him.
I've had that feeling for a year and a half now, going on 2 years.
And here I was all set to take back 3 of the bad things I said about George over the years. I guess I should be relieved in that respect. He flew pretty much true to form.
Thanks M.U. (I overheard you talking to Ma) :-)
We ain’t done.
They ruled against Clemency also. But they had to remove the dishonorable discharge and put him back on active duty, so to speak. Apparently, they couldn’t make him a civilian with the dishonorable discharge and still incarcerate him, something like that.
Yes, God bless him, and you.
