I remember Biden mentioning his wife’s PhD when he was questioned about debating Sarah Palin. I thought he was making a point that the likes of little Sarah Palin wouldn’t be a problem, since he was around “tough”, “smart” women in the Senate all the time, and his wife held a PhD.

Brokaw just mentioned that Sarah Palin would have to call Biden Mr. Vice President now, instead of saying “can I call you Joe?”

That remark was so totally uncalled for. But we knew they would throw Sarah Palin's name in there somewhere in a negative tone.
