The Senate on Tuesday is expected to attempt unanimous-approval votes of President-elect Obamas Cabinet nominees, but it is uncertain who will be cleared by the upper chamber on Inauguration Day.
Senate Democratic leaders have circulated a unanimous consent request for 15 nominations at various departments, from Secretary of State nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton to United Nations Ambassador nominee Susan Rice. A senior Democratic aide cautions that leaders are uncertain how many will actually win unanimous approval, and that any roll-call votes that are necessary would be held on Wednesday.
The 15 names also include Attorney General nominee Eric Holder, Agriculture Secretary nominee Tom Vilsack, Education Secretary nominee Arne Duncan, Homeland Security Secretary nominee Janet Napolitano, Interior Secretary nominee Ken Salazar, Labor Secretary nominee Hilda Solis, Energy Secretary nominee Steven Chu, Environmental Protection Agency Secretary nominee Lisa Jackson and Deputy Defense Secretary nominee William Lynn.

I’d just like to know who in the hell stole our balls. Of course, I’d hate to think even worse that a good chunk of the GOP was colluding all the time, just helping the rodents along until they reached absolute control. And, yes, there are some states for which this has happened exactly. Illinois, for instance. The False Messiah is giving a cabinet post to the RINO Congressman that ran out his Republican Senate predecessor in 2004, all because he wasn’t a part of “The Combine.”
Courage, GOP. Stand up and be counted.
We don’t want some of these criminals in our government.
Doesn’t the President have to nominate someone before the Senate can vote to confirm? What a bunch of tactless elitist boobs.
We OWE Obama and his party that treatment. Enough of this one-way street of respect crap. RINOs need to grow a set.
This is a message I got today regading Pelosi plans:
"While one could joke that Obama's "change" philosophy simply means that he wants to take your hard-earned dollars and leave you with :"change," the fact is that there is nothing amusing about Washington's horrifying lurch to the left. On the very first day of Congress, Nancy Pelosi pushed through a change to a House rule known as the "motion to recommit," a rule that was implemented a century ago specifically to prohibit the leadership of the majority party from railroading horrendous legislation through Congress under the cover of darkness.
A real-life example - or rather, fifty real life examples - were supplied by John Fund of the Wall Street Journal. "Republicans used the motion fifty times in the last Congress, primarily to block tax increases buried in larger bills." In other words, on fifty occasions during the last session of Congress, Pelosi and Company tried to sneak tax increases, anti-Second Amendment measures and amnesty for illegal aliens, among other things, into unrelated bills. On those fifty occasions, conservatives exercised their right to send the bills back to committee to force liberal committee members to actually go on record advocating precisely what the voters who put them in office DON'T want.
Essentially, conservatives said, if you want to pass it... vote on it... go on the record... let the American people see what you're trying to do and know where you stand... but don't try to sneak measures the American people would object to through Congress under the cover of darkness.
I tried entering a question as to just how the new GOP leadership was going to deal with this outrageous Pelosi power grab, but was not successful. Not only is her goal to stifle all GOP dissent over her agenda, but to even quash debate among Democrats (some of whom are already speaking out). She wants her agenda railroaded through NOW -- without review, discussion or anything other than blind allegiance to her far left omnipotence."
You do know they are not polling any of us who voted for McCain don’t you? I swear they get the people right off the one’s campaign trail to ask about these so called polls!
Call your Senators, no unanamous consent for any nominee, they should all have real hearings. Are you kidding me, did Bush have 1 unanamous consent nominee. I don’t think even Powell got that.
When does Krystallnacht and the staged Reichstag fires start? How about rounding up the guns? Internal passports? Yes we CAN!! Socialismo o muerte. Che forever!
I guess we will see what happens
Rubberstampocracy
Unbelievable! The Senators need to read Article 2 Section 2 of the Constitution.
Donkey pols fight; Elephant pols roll over. That’s just how it is. Remember when the ACLU commie Bader-Ginsburg got 96 Senate approval votes? The Pubbies don’t contest anything....ever.
