I've been in several organizations where candidates for offices have been elected in this way.

I don't like it. And it's wrong.

But, unfortunately, it's perfectly legal according to parliamentary procedure.

American kids are no longer taught right and wrong. There are just gradations of your own opinion. If you don't think it's wrong then, obviously for you, it isn't wrong. It's the whole judgmentalism thing. Bottom line, we need more Conservative teachers at all levels.

And how many millions more deliberately didn’t vote in November because both major candidates were odious ? Without Palin as the VP pick, I’d not have voted for McCain, as I found him personally offensive and antithetical to Conservatism. This collective media orgasm over the False Messiah is the singlemost disgusting spectacle I’ve witnessed in my lifetime. They’re treating this not as an inauguration, but as the coronation of an Emperor... or the Second Coming (in fact, I doubt Jesus Himself would get this kind of treatment). Very few channels one can turn to, save a music station, that isn’t participating in this abomination.

Yep, I am feeling like there is no one to represent me since both my senators are Dems as well as my governor. I still write to my dem senators but I always get the typical responses back and I am basically ignored.

At the rate things are going, they may get unanimous consent to toss all the Republicans out of the Senate. I hear Senator Al Franken will be tallying those votes ...

I wonder how many Republicans would say NO? none?

A voice of sanity. Once they clear committee, there is very little chance they will be defeated on the floor. Usually some Senator will put a hold on one or two of the nominees, but a lot get unanimous consent.

Sad to say but America has shifted left thanks to Bush. The Senate is doing the people’s will. Did you see last week’s Fox News polls?

The Messiah has a 76% approval rating.

Biden has a 58% approval.

Hillary Clinton 71% approval.

McCain 64% approval.

Bush 34% approval.

Palin 49% approval.

58% approval of Obama’s stimulus plan.

More than half want the Bush tax cuts ditched in favor of Obama’s tax cuts.

Because the republicans have been compromised. They don’t dare. They are scared and any tiny opposition they put up is for show.

Although I don’t think there’s any way this will fly. No way unanimous consent for Holder, Geitner, or Solis will go through.

It's not even being asked for, for Holder or Geithner (or Daschle).

How can there be 58% approval of a stimulus plan that we know nothing about?

I don’t get it, somebody explain to me what this means. I read it as a request for all Senate Democrats to unanimously approve Obama’s appointees, right? Or do they want all Senators to unanimously approve his appointees? They can request all they want, it doesn’t give them authority to force approval or to keep people from raising objections.

Sounds to me like they just don’t want to look like a divided party, as many of Obama’s appointments (at least the economic ones) are pretty centrist and mainstream, not the Galbraitheans that the nutroots were hoping for, and so rather than fight over Summers et al they will just wave them all in to avoid airing dirty laundry.
