Today is the last full day that George W Bush spent in the White House as President he telephoned current and former world leaders from Oval Office.
Also in his last full day as President he commuted the sentences of two former US border guards facing more than 10 years in prison for shooting a Mexican drug smuggler.
Secretary of Defense Roberts Gates will will sit out Barack Obama's inauguration at an undisclosed location as the "designated successor" in the event of a catastrophe, the White House announced Monday.
Pray for President Bush - Day 3050.

I'M VERY DEPRESSED ABOUT THIS WHOLE THING, TOO. I'm only going to watch while President Bush is there....nothing after that....TV is going off.

I told my hubby to put it at half mast...he's considering it. After all it's the death of Capitalism as we know it.

Thank you snugs. Continuing to pray for your Dad.
You have been putting in a lot of time for a long time posting this thread, and awarding toasters. Now you will get a much deserved rest, from the computer. But taking care of your father and learning what to do with the equipment they furnished to take care of him is no doubt quite demanding. Thank you for the updates on his condition. G-d be with you.
And please show up on Free Republic as often as you can.

I think that is the last time we will see 41 in any official way. I always enjoyed his speeches.

Please remember that we need to show respect for the office of the Presidency. When Bill Clinton was in office we showed class and respect for the office - not the man.
To: defconw
I hope not. I hope 43 takes years off and relaxes.

Hope so too. Sorry to hijack the thread for a moment, but I didn’t get pinged to the 24 thread, and I just wondered.....

Dad is home and for the first time since the op actually said he was hungry about about midnight tonight.
He wanted a fried egg and fried tomatoes. Did not have the tomatoes but did fry him an egg and got him a mug of mushroom soup which he enjoyed.
He also enjoyed my lamb stew

Well 41 kept a low profile until 43 was elected. I expect 43 to lie low. Hope not, but wouldn’t you?

The TV will NOT be on tomorrow around here! Ugh!
Except for my hubby’s garden and cooking shows. LOL!
Oh...and Dog Whisperer. He loves it and we don’t even HAVE a dog! :D
