“Whatever your personal viewpoint, the fact remains that garroting is not mutilation, which is defined as “to cut up or alter radically; to cut off or permanently destroy an essential part.” “

OK - I stand corrected.
Let me be more specific.
I find it difficult to believe that parens who have seemingly had no prior history of abuse -whose other child has shown no signs of abuse - would resort to garroting to coverup an accident instead of calling 911.

“The BTK killer did not murder very young children”

The 2 Otero children along with their parents.
And as we can see from the BTK - garroting can be a sick pleasure for some weirdos.
It also requires skill - which I have difficulty believing Patsy even understood how to garrot anyone.

The DA's office was Democratic and John Benet was a successful Republican businessman.

So the whole thing can be summed up as Liberal Democrat persecuting an innocent Republican family.

Was there actually a killer involved?

I try not to read too much about that sort of thing, but once I learned what the Oteros went through that morning I have never been able to get it out of my head.

Charlie Otero was a happy boy and a good student up until that point.

My heart aches for him.

Intersting,,your theory was mine. I think the bro did it by accident and parents covered being unable to deal with losing two kids. The bro is supposedly odd.

Dont know,,a third party? a friend of somebody in the family? Somebody who helped her go to the bathroom earlier in the day? She came home from a party and went to bed without a bath,,somebody at the party could have left the dna pulling down her stockings to help her go to the bathreoom. She was six,,a possibility.

I do’t know.

an unknown male helped her go potty?

That’s stranger than the theory that a pedophile attacked her at night.

In twenty-four months before her death she visited the doctor eighteen times for injuries.

She defecated in her bed and wet her pants during the day.

Wetting the bed & uncontrollable defecation are in many instances a sign of incest.

“In twenty-four months before her death she visited the doctor eighteen times for injuries.”

what injuries?
Did the doctor suspect abuse?
Were the Ramseys reported for abuse?
Doctors are mandated reporters - if this was abuse related it would seem somebody’s head should roll if this was not reported.

“Wetting the bed & uncontrollable defecation are in many instances a sign of incest.”

I can assure you that my 6th child - a girl, was never a victim of incest.

If you read the book you would realize there is no way to know whose DNA that is because the crime scene was destroyed over and over again.

They threw blankets that people were sitting on (who should have never been allowed in the house) over the dead child, they moved her (the dead child) a couple of times, there were dozens of people roaming the home before and after they found the dead child, there was only ONE police officer for hours to watch the house (and people) because of incompetence and stupidity, etc.

There is no way to know who was in the house because people kept coming and going. The DNA could be from anyone of those people but how do you go back and find them since so many of the police officers, etc. QUIT over the handling of the case?

Just like the ‘unexplained’ broken window (that was explained more than once) that the Ramsey’s lawyers and MSM kept repeating. I think the DNA is the same kind of thing. It can be explained but who in their right mind would even try in a town that was run like that? That person could be the next suspect.

Read the book. It explains a lot!

You were saying — “In all, the initial response was inept, and it served to undermine the entire investigation; the utter lack of cooperation with the police on the part of John and Patsy Ramsey then compounded the difficulties. Within hours of the murder, the Ramseys had their own team of high-priced lawyers, who effectively insulated them from any direct contact with detectives. Nearly four months passed before police were able to question the parents at length, and only then on the condition that the Ramseys be given full access to police reports and evidence prior to the meeting. In essence, they behaved like suspects, and when Thomas and other detectives tried to determine the Ramseys’ guilt or innocence, they were stymied every step of the way by Boulder County District Attorney Alex Hunter and those under his direction.”

Here is a defense attorney (a professor) and a police investigator (both talking to a group of law students) about why one should *never* talk to the police. Both the police investigator and the professor agreed on that...

Interesting... (about the Constitution and the 5th Amendment)...

It’s easy to understand how dna could wind up on the outside of her clothing in such a situation, but not in the crotch of the undies.

Hopefully the database will pay off.

Summed up? No, but a factor? Surely. You think Democrats in power never persecuted an innocent Repub family?

Surely you jest.

Summed up? No, but a factor? Surely.

So how do you sum it up. Innocent family, and a killer hidden by the Liberal Police in Boulder?

Wrong. One of his first victims was the eight-year-old daughter of the Oteros, young Josie.

I stand corrected. Thank you. Facts always are paramount to me.

The first crimes linked to the BTK killer occurred on January 15, 1974, when Joseph Otero, 38, his wife Julie, 34, and their children Josephine, 11, and Joseph, 9, were found dead inside their home. Source.

Unlike the Ramsey case, BTK murdered the entire Otero family. To the best of my knowledge, he killed only teenagers and/or adults thereafter.

There are many strange things about the Ramsey case. I remain skeptical (not closed minded to, but needing evidence) that a total stranger killed Jon Benet. It's extremely rare for a stranger/murderer to kill only one person in a household, and to kill that one person while remaining inside the house and knowing other people are inside.

Although it isn't unknown for strangers to snatch kids out of their homes and kill them, as in the Lindburgh baby and Polly Klass cases, it rarest of the rare.

According all law enforcement statistics, most murderers of children are relatives, acquaintances or caretakers. Younger children (aged 13 and under) are more likely to be murdered by a relative; and older children, aged 13-18. Approximately 1200 to 1500 children under the age of 18 are murdered annually. Approximately 57% were killed by a parent. Strangulation, use of a blunt object, and beating with fists were the most common means used when a parent killed a child. (Source.)

So I repeat, if John or Patsy Ramsey were, indeed, innocent of this crime, then the most likely murderer is someone who knew them.
