Sarah Palin is receiving praise from some unusual quarters lately. Some environmental groups are saying positive things about the conservative governors announcement of her statewide energy plan, which proposes that 50 percent of Alaskas power be produced from renewable resources by 2025. Pat Lavin of the National Wildlife Federation described the governors announcement as a defining moment in Alaskas history. Alaska Conservation Alliance director Kate Troll characterized Gov. Palins energy proposal as a very forward-thinking energy plan.

Breeder reactors.
Last paragraph:
“Sarah Palin is determined to make Alaska the nations energy leader and show the other 49 states how it is done. If her energy plan is a success - and first impressions are that it will be - she will become an even more formidable force, not only in her state of Alaska, but on the big stage of national politics as well.”
We need to start with four in California.
if I’m not mistaken Alaska is a great candidate for geothermal.
“a very forward-thinking energy plan.”
What is it about environmentalists that makes them think they can predict the future? What if all Palin’s recommended investments fail miserably? What if the measures we take to curb global warming cost more than doing nothing? In short, how do they know?

Alaska is a good candidate for hydro electric.

Very much so - we could be carbon free and hydro only (for the railbelt + Juneau) if not for the greenie nay-sayers.
She’s walking into a trap.
So it says in the article.
I'm hoping Sarah can spearhead a movement of governor's to take steps to solidify individual States Rights as provided for by the Constitution.
Texas has it written into their constitution that they can, at any time they so decide, secede from the U.S. And Oklahoma recently passed a resolution for their sovereignty -
""WHEREAS, the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States reads as follows: 'The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.';
and WHEREAS, the Tenth Amendment .....
etc, ending with
"THAT the State of Oklahoma hereby claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the Constitution of the United States.
THAT this serve as Notice and Demand to the federal government, as our agent, to cease and desist, effective immediately, mandates that are beyond the scope of these constitutionally delegated powers.

This is what needs to be done in every state - or at least enough so's we'd have a 'safe haven' to go to, if need be.
Sarah could get enough governors on board to spearhead this as a countrywide movement. It could, just possibly, be the only way the zero's 4th Reich will be stopped. By relegating the powers of DC back to the Constitutional Rights - protect us from foreign enemies and a few other things that we can't take care of ourselves.
WE need to get State's Rights reestablish NOW...Together we stand, or we fall apart;
If an energy plan is proposed that is reasonable and achieves the goal of us weening ourselves off Middle-East oil, I am all for it.
The problem I have had with the enviro gestapo, the global warming nuts, and the energy fruitcakes, is that their premises and plans could best be described as a mental disorder that would gain someone a long stay in a looney bin, if their psychosis was related to any other topic.
When reason rules the day on energy policy, I support it.
Thank you! How refreshing! This is what resonated the most w/ me w/ her - can we please get back to small govt. and more local/state govt. control?? :)
there’s a couple of chances of that happening-slim and none. I am a big believer in the Xth Amendment, but like so much of the Constituion-the American people are ignorant of what it says, and Washington doesn’t care what it says.
Walking the walk, (unlike the gang taking over tomorrow.)
I wish her and the state of ALaska success with this plan.
