Vice President-elect Joe Biden worshipped and received communion Sunday at the same Roman Catholic church President John F. Kennedy attended just hours before his inauguration.
Biden and his wife, Jill, sat in a pew reserved for him and his family toward the back of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and listened as the Rev. Larry Madden, S.J., delivered a sermon about God as a constant anchor and the promise of hope and change for those who believe.
Although Madden did not mention Biden's name, the presence of the vice president-elect was obvious in other ways.
Secret Service agents were discreetly stationed throughout the church, including either side of the altar. Toward the end of the 11:30 a.m. Mass, as one of the lectors urged those in attendance to welcome new members and visitors, some in the congregation laughed and then applauded, looking toward Biden. He eventually stood and acknowledged the response that included a standing ovation.
Among those at the service was Biden's former colleague, Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., a regular at Holy Trinity.

BXVI was elected for a purpose. Gradually but surely those who favor abortions (Pelosi, Kennedy, Biden, and Schwarzenneger) will be considered for automatic excommunication and be deemed unable to receive the Holy Eucharist. Some Catholic Bishops and Cardinals are already hewing to this line.
I wonder if that logic would have held water in 1859 when the subject was slavery. “I'm opposed, but it's a personal choice”.
There are many stupid catholics.
I try to educate them, they have voted
Democrat their whole life and to hear that
some one else is Republican brings up an emotion
that that person is evil and cold harded and
wants babies to go hungry. I try to show them
that the Democrats are the enemy of their religion
and it takes time to wean them off their media
brainwashing and into truth. So much ignorance!
I wish I was at a mass where people applauded abortionists
I would certainly express my freedom of speech
I want to PUKE - shame on the priest - the Church stands for NOTHING if it won’t call its members to task for going against teaching - major hypocracy!!!!!
Puke ditto!

Note verses 27-30.
He does it and brags.I am pissed off.He would have never made it in my old church and would have been booed out.I can’t say what I want to say but if I cancel a few things I can because this is a disgrace.
Shoot, this crew wants it left to die if it’s accidentally born alive.
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.” John Adams
That group of heretics already exists.
Christ assured us that the gates of hell wouldn't prevail against His Church. If the Church ends up being smaller and filled with true Catholics as a result of the next four years as opposed to all the CINOs who claim membership now, then so be it. Let the purge of the relativists and heretics begin.
Way cool...does he have a ring we can kiss?
Where is the Archbishop of this Diocese that allows Biden and Leahy to be high lighted in this Church?
Isn’t this an example of how the Catholic Church gives its tacit approval of ABORTION by allowing PRO ABORTION CATHOLICS to participated in its liturgy?
INDEED!
INDEED.
Some contend that the Jesuits are in charge of insuring that Rome is a compliant supportive part of the global government and religion.
Wow, just like Dean quiting his church over a bike path.
Same thing.
That’s true, but the latae sententiae thing doesn’t really do it for a public person. He’s a public person giving great scandal by flaunting Catholic beliefs without any penalty, and some bishop has got to have the guts to do something about it publicly.
I read the story - this appears to be a church in DC under the Jesuits, and of course the relationship of religious orders - particularly the Jesuits - with the local ordinary (in this case, Archbishop Weurl) can be a little difficult and it is sometimes very hard for the local guy to control them without simply evicting them from his diocese.
Hey - that’s not a bad idea. In fact, why not just suppress the Jesuits altogether. St. Ignatius is probably spinning in his grave right about now anyway, so I doubt that he’d object.
