Europe’s Estrangement from Israel

I am standing in a queue waiting to buy a train ticket from London to Canterbury. A well-dressed lady standing behind me informs her friend that she “can’t wait till Israel disappears off the face of the earth.” What struck me was not her intense hostility to Israel but the mild-mannered, matter-of-fact tone with which she announced her wish for the annihilation of a nation. It seems that it is okay to condemn and demonize Israel. All of a sudden Israel has become an all-purpose target for a variety of disparate and confused causes.

When I ask a group of Pakistani waiters sitting around a table in their restaurant why they “hate” Israel, they casually tell me that it is because Jews are their “religion’s enemy.” Those who are highly educated have their own pet prejudice. One of my young colleagues who teaches media studies in a London-based university was taken aback during a seminar discussion when some of her students insisted that since all the banks are owned by Jews, Israel was responsible for the current global financial crisis.

Increasingly expressions of aversion towards Israel have assumed the status of a taken-for-granted sentiment in many sections of polite European society....

It is called dhiminitude and sadly Jews practice it in the UK, America and Europe as well as other morons like this woman. Instead of standing up against tyranny and for Israel - they going along with the Islamic invaders and thugs.

When 78% of American Jews vote for a guy named Hussein (along with 50+% of CINO Catholics) we cannot have much hope.

A big part of the problem is that Europe's press is about 5 times more leftwardly biased than our's, and portrays Israel's actions in about as negative a light as possible. The only media outlets with greater anti-Israel sentiments are the state organs in Iran and Syria. This goes a long way towards helping form European public opinion.

I'm still unsure exactly how and when liberalism became vaguely synoymous with anti-Semitism, but it does seem to have happened, moreso in Europe than in America.

Well a few European I talked to have said - at least we did not elect a Muslim to run our countries.

Estrangement? I seem to remember that less than a century ago, most of Europe was much more than “estranged” from the Jewish population. Most either participated or turned a blind eye to the treatment of the Jews in all countries of Europe.

This type of thinking is on our shores as well, although much less malignant (thus far). Europe is slowly committing suicide, and instead of putting the blame where it belongs on Islamic thugs - they blame the Jewish people - AGAIN! It is truly sickening.

I may see to much end times prophesy in all this but, scripture tells us that Israel will become a mill stone around the neck of all nations, for the sake of gods judgment.
I pray that my nation will continue to bare that burden for our own sake not just Israel's. Time will tell!

Israel is the now blocked gateway for Muslims to hard left leaning Spain and from there on up north into wide open, undefended Europe.
Without this barrier Israel, Europe is wide open for a Islam roll over.
Ahmadinejad clearly sees this and elaborated on this hurdle Israel over two years ago.

The international Left opposes any source of cultural or nationalistic identification which can compete with them for loyalty.. Jews have been successful in maintaining a separate identity which threatens the Left's intentions to exercise total control and extract total obedience. Therefore they must be at least neutralized and if necessary destroyed. Jews in the US have largely been neutralized, by way of their secularization and reflexive collectivism, but Israel, it must be destroyed.
