I was in an all-boys Jesuit school. It makes a lot more sense to separate the genders at that age. College is where you can meet the opposite sex.

At St. Peter's Prep in Jersey City, they had a survey for incoming freshman.  One of the questions asked if we wanted the school to be co-ed.  We pretty much all answered "yes".

As we were getting ready to graduate Senior year, we got the survey again.  This time we all answered "No".

We all got to know plenty of girls at our sister schools (sadly, all but St. Dominic's is closed or closing).

Now that I live in the 'burbs, there's only one all girls high school that within reach and it's a bit of a stretch.  That's too bad.
