George W. Bush, Winner
American Spectator ^ | 1-14-09 | Lisa Fabrizio

Friends, Americans, conservatives; lend me your ears. I come to praise George W. Bush, not to bury him; I'll leave that to our famously unbiased media.

*snip*

We can also be pretty certain that his departure will not feature the ransacking of the Oval Office and Air Force One, or the sophomoric removal of the "O's" from White House keyboards.

If, as has been the case for his entire presidency, he is true to his word, he will be as magnanimous to his successor as he was to his predecessor; notwithstanding the disrespect he received at the hands of both.

I for one appreciate your steadfast support of our President and my son’s Commander in Chief.

Count me as another.

I can not thank President Bush enough to have kept this great nation save. He and the First Lady have brought Integrity, Class and Dignity back to the People’s House. I will be forever grateful to him.

Okay, by googling “President Bush”, “Earth Day” and “snow”, I found out it was taken in April of 2002 in the Adirondacks.:-) He was introducing a clean air initiative and took a moment to do some trail maintenance, hence the axe.:)

So well said, Wolfstar!!

Thank you SuziQ. It's a part of the story that must be told and confronted someday. Not sure how or when. In the meantime, I'm glad to see so many folks celebrating the achievements of this great man.

Didn’t always agree with him, but who in the world do you agree with 100 per cent of the time? If a president could rule from the future, looking back, there would be no mistakes. I know my life would have been smoother with such an advantage.

An adult perspective, something that seems in far too short a supply in our culture these days. Thank you.

Sweet Spotty....and now kitty India is gone, too!

Spotty holds a special place in my heart. The relationship she and GWB had was wonderful and touching, and can be seen in the tender moment shown in the photo you posted.

Hi Kitty. Thank you so much for the photos. This one of our Dubya rushing to greet his troops, and they reaching out to him, is one of my favorites. Thanks for including it.
