At the ranges that one would normally employ a firearm that small, you *will* be at contact range, IMHO.
Hence the “get off me” name.
I read a Cal. Hwy Patrol report where the average gun fight range was from nine to twelve feet ... if someone confronts you it’d be somewhere in that range ... over that range you can and should run away .... if they follow then let them get close enough so you don’t miss sending your round down the street ....
