David Brooks, a conservative? It would be laughable if it weren't representative of the new Media Truth, and that is this: Brooks, Wills, Kathleen Parker, Christopher Buckley, and a number of others of their ilk are the new media conservatives. That is, they are going to be framed as the only acceptable voices of conservatism, approved by people who are decidedly not conservative and who wish us ill. They will have the microphone, the camera, the column inches. And it will be to advance an agenda that to a degree they approve of themselves: urban, collectivist, confiscational, oppressive, and thoroughly imbued with a form of class warfare that transcends the normal (well, at least as long as our enemies are dictating the norm) boundaries of liberal/conservative. These people are not our friends.

Thank God for the alternative media where these manipulative fools do not dictate the rules. Thank God for FR.
