I will create doubt about you in every conversation. I will question your judgment. Support your opponents. Ridicule your errors. Mitigate your successes with suggestion of unintended consequences. Refuse to praise your work. Challenge your advocates when they advocate; I will not let them own the conversation.

Well and comprehensively put. I am similarly inclined after what I’ve witnessed in the last eight years. But I think it was good that he attended this dinner. Call me naive, that’s okay. I am looking for reasons to not automatically dislike the guy. I’m putting cynicism on *stifle* here...
